Saratoga Springs Splash Open blends amateur pickleball, food trucks, fireworks

Saratoga Springs folded amateur pickleball into its Splash Days celebration at Patriot Park, giving recreational players a night bracket with 2.5/3.0 divisions and 3.5+ divisions, plus food trucks and a fireworks show. The city calendar placed the Splash Days Pickleball Tournament and Firework Show at 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Patriot Park, 444 East 400 South, Saratoga Springs, UT 84045.

That division split told players exactly who belonged on the court. The 2.5/3.0 side fit newer or developing players who can keep points alive, serve consistently and handle basic dinking without getting buried by pace. The 3.5+ bracket was the stronger recreational lane, where steadier shot selection, cleaner third shots and the ability to survive longer rallies mattered more. Saratoga Springs also said divisions could be combined or cancelled depending on registration, which is the reality check most community tournaments have to live with.

The setup was built for more than just match play. The city said the evening included food trucks and fireworks, and players were told to bring camp chairs and coolers. That makes the event easy to read for anyone deciding whether to enter, attend or skip: this was not a hard-edged, all-day grinder, but a park-night tournament with a social finish and enough structure to keep competitive players interested.

The format had already been tested before. A 2022 city calendar listing showed the same basic Splash Days Pickleball Tournament & Firework Show at Patriot Park on Saturday, June 11, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with categories for everyone, food trucks and a 25-minute fireworks show for the city’s Silver Jubilee. Saratoga Springs brought that formula back inside Splash Days, which ran June 10-13, 2026.

Pickleball also sat inside a broader recreation push. The city’s recreation pages listed a Spring Pickleball League 2026 with 2.5/3.0 and 3.5+ single divisions, along with an Adaptive Youth Pickleball League. Add in Summer Monday Fundays at Neptune Park, where Monday nights ran June 1-August 10, 2026 with a 5-9 p.m. food truck rally, and the city’s approach was clear: use parks as places to play, eat and stay late.

Patriot Park has become the right stage for that mix. The monument page places it at 444 East 400 South, and the pickleball tournament used that same civic centerpiece for a night that was part bracket, part block party, and all summer.
