Canada's 2026 national armwrestling championship website goes live for Moncton event

Canadian armwrestlers now have the clearest route yet to Moncton, with the official 2026 national championship site going live and putting the event clock on the board. The page says the Canadian National Championship is set for June 26 through June 29, 2026, and it makes the new site the main stop for event information, hotel details, schedules and registration.

That matters because armwrestling is won and lost in the logistics as much as at the table. The Moncton event site is already promising a live brackets and roster page that will track registered athletes by division, hand and weight class, giving pullers and clubs a working picture of who is in, where they fit and how the brackets are taking shape. Public listings around the championship also point to left-arm and right-arm divisions and multiple weight classes, which confirms this will be a full national title run, not a one-day showcase.

There is one scheduling wrinkle worth watching: the City of Moncton calendar lists the championship at Moncton Coliseum, 377 Killam Dr., with dates shown as June 26 to June 28, 2026. That means the federation listing and the host-city calendar should be read together as the week of competition approaches, especially for athletes planning travel, weigh-ins and bracket strategy.

The bigger picture is that the Canadian Armwrestling Federation is leaning into the kind of structure a national championship demands. The federation says it was founded in 1976, has staged an annual national championship since 1977 and hosted the first WAF World Championship in 1979. That history gives Moncton more weight than a routine stop on the calendar: it is the next chapter in a long-running Canadian title tradition, with the federation already pointing ahead to July 2 through July 4, 2027, in Blackfalds, Alberta.

Atlantic Canada is clearly part of the build-out, too. The Nova Scotia Arm Wrestling Association has the 2026 Nationals on its calendar, and NB Armwrestling publicly thanked NSAWA and Rick Pinkney for support in organizing the event. With registration now tied to a live official hub, the road to Moncton is no longer abstract. It is mapped, tracked and moving fast toward the tables.
