Bermuda Blades opens in Henlow with launch-week discount and giveaway

Bermuda Blades opened its doors in Henlow with a launch-week push built to pull in curious first-timers and keep them coming back. The new axe-throwing venue is offering 20 percent off shared or private sessions through midnight Sunday, June 28, using the code BLADES20 at checkout, while a share-to-win giveaway is offering a free private 60-minute lane session for up to six players.

The venue is trading on more than a discount. Bermuda Blades says it is an independent throwing sports business at the Perfect Aquatics site next to Bermuda Falls Adventure Golf, and its launch pitch spans tomahawk throwing, hatchet throwing and throwing knife experiences. The site description points to two purpose-built throwing lanes, with 30-minute and 60-minute sessions available and room for up to six players per lane, a format that puts group bookings at the center of the business model from day one.

Its competitive signal is just as deliberate. Bermuda Blades says it will use official competition-style tomahawks associated with the World Axe Throwing League, and the launch material also highlights a premium WATL Competition Axe. WATL describes itself as the world’s premier governing body for axe throwing, with more than 300 affiliated venues across 20 countries, along with consulting, certification, marketing support and a global community for member sites. For a new venue trying to earn repeat traffic, that branding does more than decorate the wall: it suggests a place where casual outings and league-minded throwing can live under the same roof.

A sneak-peek post showed staff testing throwing hatchets against a softwood support backboard while the target area was still being finished, a sign that the operation was in its final setup phase even as the launch campaign was already live. Bermuda Blades has also framed itself as Henlow’s newest entertainment destination, adding smash burgers to the mix and widening the appeal beyond the lane itself.

The opening also extends a wider buildout at the Perfect Aquatics site. Bermuda Falls said Bermuda Blades was expected to open at the end of June, following the earlier rollout of Bermuda Falls Adventure Golf, the 18-hole outdoor course in Henlow that was backed by a £259,000 funding package and was previously due to welcome golfers from March 8, 2024. Bermuda Blades now gives that site a sharper sports identity, with launch-week incentives built to turn a first visit into a return booking.
