Silva Saarinen wins second major title at USWDGC in Utah

Silva Saarinen won the 2026 United States Women’s Disc Golf Championship at Brighton Resort in Brighton, Utah, and with it added a second major title to her 2026 season. The 25th annual USWDGC ran July 16-19, drew 336 players, and carried the “See You on the Mountain” billing that fit the venue as the Disc Golf Pro Tour and event organizers tracked live scores, standings, and stats all week.

That matters because Saarinen is no longer just hanging around the top of the FPO picture. She already won the PDGA Champions Cup earlier in 2026, a victory the PDGA and DGPT described as her second PDGA major title, and now she has backed that up at the sport’s other marquee women’s major. Two majors in the same season is not a hot streak. It is the profile of the player everybody else is chasing.

Brighton’s lead-card coverage put Saarinen in the middle of a heavyweight group that also featured Eveliina Salonen, Catrina Allen, Erika Stinchcomb, Henna Blomroos, Ohn Scoggins and Ella Hansen. The pressure never really let up at altitude, and the championship’s most eye-catching single throw came in Round 3 when Jennifer Allen aced hole 16, one of the week’s signature moments on a mountain course that demanded clean execution.

Saarinen’s path through the event was built on staying in range through the middle rounds and then making the Sunday push matter. Heading into Championship Sunday, live updates had her among the contenders after the late finish to Round 3, with the leaderboard compressed enough that every mistake could have changed the title race. Instead, Saarinen separated herself when the field was still crowded and closed the door before the week could turn into a scramble.

The result reshapes the women’s side of the season heading into the next major. With Saarinen’s Champions Cup and USWDGC titles now sitting side by side, the balance of power in FPO looks less like a rotating cast and more like a player starting to impose order on it. Brighton did not just give her another trophy. It gave the division a clear front-runner.
