Kosma Skajewski wins Polish National FAI F9U drone racing championship

Kosma Skajewski took the Polish National FAI F9U drone racing championship, with Mroowa finishing second, and a racer’s own podium post made the order plain. The result put Skajewski on top of the domestic F9U ladder and left Mroowa as the nearest challenger.

That matters because FAI drone racing sits inside the world air-sports structure, and Category 2 pilots need either an FAI Sporting Licence or an FAI Permission for Drone Racing. A national title does not hand out a world berth by itself, but it does strengthen a pilot’s place in the sanctioned pipeline that leads toward the 2026 FAI World Drone Cups, the premier global FPV racing series.

The Polish scene has already treated F9U as a serious season marker. In 2025, Mistrzostwa Polski F9U were run at the MOSiR Czeladź sports field on Oct. 26, alongside the final round of Drone Racing Poland, DRP#6, with Team FailSafe organizing, Przemysław Jakubczak serving as chief judge, and Tisha designing the course. That kind of setup underlines why this title carries weight: it is not just a trophy, it is a sorting mechanism for who owns the class when the pressure is highest.

Skajewski’s win also reads as confirmation rather than a flash in the pan. Separate Polish FPV results have already put his name on the podium in other competition, including a second-place finish in FPV Freestyle Poland 2026 and silver and bronze finishes in Drone Racing Poland 2025 posts. Against that backdrop, Mroowa’s runner-up spot looks less like a consolation and more like the clearest sign yet of the current domestic order: Skajewski at the front, Mroowa close enough to keep the rivalry honest, and the rest of the field chasing both.
