Cavan Biggio launched a two-run homer in the first inning and finished with three RBIs, while Spencer Arrighetti struck out nine across 4.1 dominant innings as the Sugar Land Space Cowboys shut out the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp 5-0 at VyStar Ballpark on April 4.

Six pitchers combined to hold Jacksonville to a single hit, carrying a no-hitter deep into the ninth before Hudson Leach induced an infield single off the bat of Kemp Alderman, the only blemish in one of the more complete team pitching performances of the early Triple-A season.

Biggio set the tone immediately. His first home run of the year came in the top of the first, putting Sugar Land ahead 2-0 before Jacksonville had any answer. The inning kept producing: Riley Unroe drew a walk and Jax Biggers added a run-scoring single to push the lead to 3-0. Three runs on the board before the Jumbo Shrimp could settle in, and they never did recover. Biggio returned to the damage column later with an RBI single, capping a three-RBI afternoon. The scoring closed out in the ninth when Kellen Strahm walked and Parker Chavers singled; Winkler followed with an RBI single to finalize the five-run advantage.

But the night ultimately belonged to the pitching staff. Arrighetti's nine punchouts were the most he had posted since a 2024 outing with Houston, and he held Jacksonville to minimal traffic over his 4.1 innings while facing just three over the minimum. When he exited, the no-hit bid was intact, and the bullpen protected it with the same precision. José Fleury, Tom Cosgrove, who picked up the win to improve to 1-0, Anthony Maldonado and Alimber Santa each did their part before Leach took the ball in the ninth. Alderman's infield single ended the no-hit chase, but Leach added two strikeouts and a groundout to close the shutout.

For any MLB front office evaluating Triple-A depth in early April, that kind of collective outing carries weight. Multiple arms executing in high-leverage spots, a starter flashing legitimate swing-and-miss stuff, and an offense that produced both with power and situational contact: the Space Cowboys delivered all three at once on Saturday in Jacksonville.
