The Iowa Cubs have released their 2026 regular-season and promotional calendar, setting a 150-game slate that starts with a three-game home series against the Columbus Clippers on March 27-29 at Principal Park. The schedule balances long homestands with travel blocks and emphasizes fan-facing promotions, including a robust fireworks program and newly introduced specialty nights.
"The 2026 regular season will consist of 75 home games and 75 road games with Iowa opening the year with three home games against the Columbus Clippers on March 27-29." The club also confirmed that most matchups will be six-game sets running Tuesday through Sunday, with Monday a league-wide off day, a pattern meant to standardize travel windows and rest periods for Triple-A rosters that routinely handle call-ups, rehab assignments, and workload management.
The 2026 calendar highlights include two St. Paul Saints homestands from July 7-12 and Aug. 11-16, a long-awaited set of games that promises regional rivalry and weekend draws. New opponents on the road map are the Gwinnett Stripers, July 21-26, and the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, July 28-Aug. 2, widening the I-Cubs’ exposure to different Triple-A markets. The schedule also peppers in the Memphis Redbirds - dubbed the minor league version of Cubs-Cardinals - with Memphis visiting Principal Park May 19-24 and Iowa traveling to Memphis July 17-19, a series likely to resonate with fans who follow the parent-club rivalry.
Promotions are front-and-center: "There will be 13 firework shows at Principal Park in 2026." The team says the promotional slate also includes "newly introduced specialty nights," though names and dates for those themes were not supplied in the initial release. Key holiday tie-ins are already set: Cinco de Mayo falls on May 5 against Columbus, Mother’s Day is May 10 against Columbus, and Father’s Day is June 21 against Indianapolis.

From a business standpoint, 13 fireworks nights and themed games signal an emphasis on premium weekend attendance, ancillary revenue from concessions and merchandise, and family-friendly programming to compete with other Central Iowa entertainment options. For player development, the regular six-game sets and Monday off days create predictable routines that benefit pitchers on strict inning and workload plans while giving position players extended stretches to find rhythm before MLB call-ups.
Single-game tickets will go on sale Monday, Feb. 16, and season tickets can be purchased by contacting Clayton Grandquist. "More information regarding game times and promotions will be released at a later date." Fans should mark March 27 on their calendars and expect additional promotional specifics and precise game times as the club rolls out the full downloadable schedule.
