The Richmond Flying Squirrels built their inaugural CarMax Park promotional calendar around a landmark uniform decision: Nutasha, the team's female mascot who received her own brand identity in February, will appear on Flying Squirrels uniforms for five games in 2026, marking what the club says is the first time a Minor League Baseball team has worn uniforms portraying a female mascot character.

That headline item anchors a schedule released Thursday that also includes 13 fireworks shows, 10 giveaway dates, specialty jersey auctions, a Sunday Summer Music Series, Las Ardillas Voladoras Copa events, college alumni nights and a planned appearance by former Flying Squirrel and San Francisco Giant Brandon Crawford.

"We are incredibly excited to commemorate this historic inaugural season at CarMax Park throughout the year with a variety of giveaways, appearances and entertainment experiences," General Manager Anthony Oppermann said. "Everyone who enters the gates this year will make core memories that last a lifetime, and it will be so special to share in those experiences with them."

Opening Night sets the tone. The Flying Squirrels host the Altoona Curve on Tuesday, April 7, launching a six-game opening series that runs through April 12. The first 60,000 fans across those six games will receive an Opening Week rally towel presented by CarMax, and In-Your-Face Fireworks shows are scheduled for both April 7 and April 11. The opening series is presented by CarMax, Bon Secours, CareScout, Dominion Energy, Atlantic Union Bank and Woodfin - Your Home Team.

All 13 fireworks shows throughout the season carry the In-Your-Face Fireworks branding, presented by Chick-fil-A, and are scheduled on select Thursday and Saturday home dates.

Beyond fireworks and giveaways, the promotional calendar layers in a range of recurring programming. Select Fridays will feature Las Ardillas Voladoras Copa-themed events and Hispanic heritage programming. The Sunday Summer Music Series brings pre-game live music to select home Sundays. College Nights will host alumni groups from universities across Virginia throughout the season. The team will also auction specialty on-field jerseys during the year, with proceeds benefiting local and national organizations.

No date has been announced yet for Brandon Crawford's appearance.

Individual-game tickets go on sale Saturday, March 7, in person at 10 a.m. at Nutzy's Block Party and online at SquirrelsBaseball.com/Tickets starting at 1 p.m. Season memberships are currently available at SquirrelsBaseball.com, by phone at 804-359-FUNN (3866) or in person at the Flying Squirrels ticket office.
