Stripers Schedule Spring College and High-School Games; Opening Night March 27
Gwinnett Stripers announced a spring slate of college and high-school games at Gwinnett Field and set Opening Night vs. the Memphis Redbirds for March 27; single-game tickets go on sale Feb. 16.

The Gwinnett Stripers announced a packed spring schedule that brings college and prep baseball to Gwinnett Field and sets the stage for their Triple-A season opener March 27 against the Memphis Redbirds. The team, the Atlanta Braves' Triple-A affiliate, released dates and start times for multiple collegiate and high-school matchups designed to animate the ballpark in the weeks before the professional season.
Key collegiate contests include Georgia State against Bellarmine on Feb. 21-22, Georgia State vs. Georgia Tech on March 3, and Georgia Gwinnett facing Montreat on March 13-14. Those games stack local and regional programs into early-season competition that can serve as tune-ups for college staffs and scouting windows for professional evaluators. The schedule also features a string of high-school rivalries: Apalachee vs. Jefferson on Feb. 13, Athens Academy vs. St. Francis on Feb. 14, Athens Christian vs. Tattnall Square Academy on Feb. 19, and Prestonburg vs. Dacula on March 31. The release confirmed Gwinnett Field will host these collegiate and prep contests in advance of Triple-A play.
Opening Night is set for March 27, when the Stripers will host Memphis, and single-game tickets will be available beginning Feb. 16. For fans, those early events offer both affordable access to competitive baseball and an early look at Gwinnett Field hospitality and sightlines ahead of the full Triple-A schedule. For the Stripers organization, the spring slate functions as a multi-layered business play: it stretches venue utilization, creates non-affiliate revenue from concessions and parking, and deepens local partnerships with high schools and colleges.
On the baseball side, running college and high-school games on a Triple-A surface gives coaches and scouts a consistent environment to evaluate pitchers and position players on a pro-style mound and grass. The Georgia State vs. Georgia Tech matchup on March 3 carries particular attention because it pits a major-conference program against a rising Sun Belt opponent in front of an accessible, neutral site crowd. Local high-school rivalries staged at Gwinnett Field also spotlight grassroots talent, providing a showcase for players and a recruiting aid for coaches.
As the Stripers configure promotions and ticket packages, the spring schedule doubles as a marketing runway. Fans can plan attendance around marquee college clashes and traditional prep rivalry dates leading into the March 27 opener. The calendar offers early opportunities for scouting, community engagement, and ballpark previews, and it frames the business and cultural rhythms that will carry Gwinnett baseball into the Triple-A season.
