Ward's walk-off three-run homer lifts Comets over Express, 10-9
Ryan Ward ended a 10-9 stunner with a three-run homer, giving Oklahoma City its first walk-off win of 2026 and a statement night for Dodgers depth.

Ryan Ward turned a two-run deficit into a thunderous finish, launching a three-run walk-off homer into the left-center bullpen to lift the Oklahoma City Comets past the Round Rock Express, 10-9, at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The blast gave Oklahoma City its first comeback win of the season after trailing after the eighth inning and its first walk-off victory of 2026, while also serving as a loud reminder that Ward keeps producing in moments that matter.
The game swung early and often. Round Rock opened with three straight doubles in the first inning to grab a 2-0 lead, but Oklahoma City answered in the second when Austin Gauthier lined an RBI double. Zach Ehrhard tied it in the third on a wild pitch, then the Express went back in front in the fourth on Justin Foscue’s RBI single. The Comets moved ahead for the first time in the sixth, getting a run when Michael Siani scored on a fielder’s choice and another when Ryan Fitzgerald ripped an RBI double down the left-field line.
Round Rock seemed to take control with a four-run seventh that pushed it to a 7-4 lead, but Oklahoma City kept coming. With two outs in the bottom half, Michael Suwinski, Gauthier and Siani delivered three straight RBI singles to tie it 7-7. The Express answered again in the ninth, when Richie Martin’s home run made it 9-7, setting up the final act.
Gauthier started the comeback one last time with a one-out walk in the ninth, Fitzgerald followed with a single to put runners at the corners, and Ward ended it with one swing. The 3-for-5 night included a homer, three RBI and a stolen base for Ward, who entered the game with 69 home runs over his past two seasons in Oklahoma City. Gauthier also finished with three hits, while Fitzgerald had two hits, including a double, and Jack Suwinski posted his first multi-hit game of the season.
The shot marked Oklahoma City’s first walk-off homer since April 2, 2023, and its first walk-off blast while trailing since July 29, 2022. Ward is now 10-for-20 in the series with three doubles, two homers and six RBI, a burst that comes at a useful time for a Dodgers affiliate built to supply impact bats and ready-made depth. The Comets improved to 7-7 and took a 3-2 lead in the six-game set after following Friday’s 1-0 shutout with one of the season’s early signature finishes.
