Dominique Nugent’s floral baby shower turned a Bank Holiday weekend gathering in Dublin into something deeply personal, with cream styling, close friends and a room full of anticipation. The event took place at House in Dublin, on Lower Leeson Street in Dublin 2, a venue made up of two Georgian townhouses with private spaces designed for smaller celebrations. That scale suited the mood of the afternoon. Instead of a large production, the shower leaned into gentle details, from cute cookies to a fancy cake and floral décor that gave the party a baby-in-bloom look. Dominique thanked her sisters, Victoria Nugent and Sarah Madison, for organising the shower, calling it “A day I dreamed of for a very long time.”

What gave the celebration its emotional pull was the sense of waiting still attached to it. Nugent had not yet found out whether she is expecting a boy or a girl, so the afternoon carried the quiet suspense of a reveal without the spectacle of one. That intimacy mattered because Nugent’s journey to this moment has been marked by loss. In February 2024, she and her husband, Paddy, shared that they had lost their much-longed-for baby at 16 weeks. EVOKE later reported that the baby was a girl named Wynter Reya and that Nugent delivered on January 19, one day short of 16 weeks. July 6, 2024 would have been Wynter Reya’s due date.

By July 2025, Nugent was describing the previous couple of years as filled with “loss, longing, and quiet heartbreak,” and said she and Paddy had started IVF. That history makes the shower more than a pretty photo moment. It reads as a hard-won milestone, shaped by grief, patience and the steady support of family, and it shows why the most resonant baby showers often rely on feeling, not scale.
