Hauck wins Parents award as baby gear shifts toward longevity and sustainability
Hauck’s Arketa+ Set won Parents’ Best Wooden High Chair as shoppers increasingly prize baby gifts that last from 6 months to adulthood.

The baby shower gift that wins today is less likely to be a one-season novelty than a piece of furniture that can survive the nursery, the toddler years and beyond. Hauck’s Arketa+ Set has stepped squarely into that shift, after being named Best Wooden High Chair in Parents’ 2026 Best for Baby Awards for what the company called its thoughtful design, safety and long-term usability.
The award carries weight because Parents’ 2026 program included 100 winning products, and related coverage said the picks were vetted and tested by parents, editors, expert judges and more than 100 parent testers. For shoppers building registries, that kind of scrutiny matters. It turns a high chair from a simple shower add-on into a considered purchase with a durability story behind it.
Hauck has made that durability central to the Arketa+ pitch. The chair is designed for use starting at 6 months, and retailer listings say it can support users up to 286 pounds, or 130 kilograms. It also offers 13 adjustable seat and footrest positions, a seat reducer for babies learning to sit, a five-point harness, a tilt-proof design, floor gliders and a removable tray. In other words, the product is being sold not as a stage-specific accessory but as something that can move with a child from first meals through later childhood and even adulthood.
The materials tell the same story. Hauck highlights FSC-certified beech wood and a GRS-certified recycled tray, while OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100-certified fabric is used for the cushioning. That combination fits a broader buyer preference for products that look at home in the main living space, rather than screaming nursery from across the room. FSC, the Forest Stewardship Council, describes its certification as a global standard for responsible forest management, which gives the eco-conscious message extra credibility in a category where sustainability claims increasingly help justify premium pricing.
Hauck says it has more than 100 years of experience, and its U.S. products are sold through select retailers including Target, Walmart and Amazon. The Arketa+ Set’s award win shows how premium feeding gear is now competing on more than cuteness alone. For baby shower shoppers, the strongest pitch is no longer that a gift is adorable for the newborn phase. It is that one purchase can stay useful, and visible, long after the party ends.
