Temu’s place on USA TODAY’s inaugural Brands Most Trusted by Parents 2026 list lands at a telling moment for baby-shower shopping, where affordability, convenience and credibility now compete for the same cart. The ranking, released May 8, was built from an independent nationwide survey of more than 5,000 recent U.S. parents, after Plant-A Insights Group screened more than 20,000 consumer brands, narrowed the field to 2,000 for deeper review and recognized the top 350 highest-scoring names.

Temu was singled out in the Mass Merchant and Variety category within the general merchandise sector, a slot that helps explain why the marketplace matters beyond its core discount appeal. Baby-shower buyers rarely shop for one item in isolation. They assemble bundles of swaddles, nursery accessories, storage bins, organizers and other practical add-ons, and that kind of mission shopping fits a platform built for breadth and price-sensitive browsing.

The company’s own U.S. site reinforces that role with a dedicated Baby & Maternity category, while its search results surface baby-shower-specific merchandise such as decorations, gifts, games, favor items, diaper caddies, storage baskets and maternity dresses for baby showers. For shoppers trying to stretch a budget without giving up variety, that mix can be hard to ignore. In a category where a registry can include both essentials and decorative extras, the marketplace model has become part of the buying equation.

Temu framed the recognition as a sign that parents see it as a trustworthy option and a source of affordable, high-quality products across more than 90 markets worldwide. The parent-trust nod also follows another public honor: Temu was named to USA TODAY’s America’s Best Customer Service 2026 list for a second consecutive year, and the company has said it remains focused on improving the quality, safety and reliability of what it offers.

That credibility push arrives alongside sharp scrutiny. Just days after the parent-ranking announcement, USA TODAY reported that the Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office had sued Temu, alleging deceptive and unfair business practices along with illegal data collection. The contrast captures the tension now shaping baby-shower shopping: marketplaces can win on price, scale and convenience, but trust is still being tested in the open, and parents are watching closely.
