The University of Utah's Student Parent Support Center will bring together campus and community members on April 15 for a Community Baby Shower designed to connect expectant students and student parents with essential supplies and campus resources. The event runs from 12 to 3 p.m. in Union Room 280 and is open to all.

"For many student parents, something as simple as access to diapers, clothing, or baby supplies can make a meaningful difference," said Virginia Despain, director of the Student Parent Support Center. "Community support helps ease that burden and reminds our students that they are not navigating this journey alone."

Beyond donations, the afternoon will include sweet treats, fun games, and a diaper raffle. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about programs available through the center that address basic needs and build a sense of belonging on campus.

Those unable to attend in person can still contribute. Item donations are accepted at the Student Parent Support Center office in Union Room 280 through April 20, and online donations can be made through the center's Amazon Baby Registry. The Student Affairs page notes a list of most-needed items is available, encouraging community members to contribute goods that create an immediate impact for student families.

For students who need supplies outside of the event, diaper pick-up is available at the Union location Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Students needing pick-up at the Health Sciences Education Building can schedule an appointment by emailing jmcmillan@sa.utah.edu.
