Lake City man arrested after armed threat at Dollar General store

Lake City police said a confrontation at a Dollar General store on NE Bascom Norris Drive began on December 2 when 33 year old Aljowan Jones selected an alcoholic beverage and left the store without paying. When a store employee confronted him outside the building, police say Jones displayed a handgun tucked in his waistband and threatened to kill the employee and others.

Officers obtained a warrant after the incident, and police located and arrested Jones about a week later on December 10, 2025. He faces multiple charges including robbery with a firearm, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and petit theft. The criminal case remains pending as prosecutors prepare formal filings.
