Frigidaire Gas Range Recall Urges Shoppers to Stop Using Ovens Immediately
About 174,800 Frigidaire gas ranges sold at Home Depot were recalled after 30 burn injuries tied to delayed ignition in oven bake burners.
About 174,800 Frigidaire gas ranges sold at Home Depot, Lowe's, and Frigidaire.com have been recalled after dozens of people reported burn injuries caused by delayed ignition in the ovens' bake burners. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission issued the notice on March 19, and Electrolux Group, which manufactures the Frigidaire line, is offering free professional in-home installation of a replacement bake burner for every affected unit.
The hazard stems from the oven's bake burner, which can experience a delayed ignition that allows unignited gas to accumulate before it fires. "The ovens in the ranges can experience a delayed ignition of the oven's bake burner, posing a risk of burn hazard," the CPSC stated in its March 19 notice. Consumer Reports and the CPSC confirmed awareness of 30 burn injury reports tied to the issue. A broader count reported by 5NEWS put the total number of delayed ignition complaints at 62 by Thursday, including those 30 burn injuries.
The recall covers Frigidaire, Frigidaire Gallery, and Frigidaire Professional gas ranges sold between June 2025 and January 2026, priced from $630 to $2,700 according to Consumer Reports. The affected models span serial numbers VF52200000 through VF54399999 and include the following model numbers: FCFG3083AS, FCRG3083AD, FCRG3083AS, GCFG3060BD, GCFG3060BF, GCFG3070BF, GCRG3060BD, GCRG3060BF, PCFG3080AF, FCFG3062AB, FCFG3062AS, FCFG3062AW, FCRG3051BB, FCRG3051BS, FCRG3051BW, FCRG3052BB, FCRG3052BS, FCRG3052BW, FCRG3062AB, FCRG3062AS, FCRG3062AW, FCRG306LAF, and GCFG3059BF. Consumer Reports noted that all nine Frigidaire gas ranges listed in its product ratings fall within the recall, and none are currently recommended.
An additional 5,300 units were sold in Canada, bringing the combined total to roughly 180,100 ranges affected across North America.

To check whether a specific unit is included, pull open the drawer beneath the oven and locate the nameplate, which displays both the model number and serial number. Electrolux has set up a telephone hotline and an online claims center where consumers can enter those numbers to confirm whether their range is recalled and schedule the free repair. The fix involves a professional technician visiting the home to install a new bake burner at no charge.
Until that repair is completed, anyone with a recalled range should stop using the oven entirely. The cooktop burners on all affected ranges remain safe to use in the meantime, according to the CPSC notice and Electrolux guidance.
For Home Depot associates fielding questions on the appliance floor or at the service desk, the key facts to share are direct: oven use stops now, cooktop use continues, and Electrolux covers the repair in full through its hotline and online claims portal.
