Shoplifting reported at Lexington Home Depot, police investigating
Lexington police issued a community alert after an alleged Feb. 13 shoplifting at a Home Depot where a suspect is accused of taking more than $375 in merchandise.

Lexington police issued a community alert and asked for public assistance after an alleged shoplifting at a Home Depot on Feb. 13, 2026, in which a suspect is accused of taking more than $375 worth of merchandise without paying. The local notice asked residents to help identify the person involved, but the alert did not include a suspect name, a store address, or item-level descriptions.
Police have not released additional details about whether the incident led to an arrest or whether Home Depot Asset Protection reported the theft. The original notice referenced only the date, the allegation of theft exceeding $375, and a request for community tips; investigators are continuing to seek information from anyone who may have seen the incident.
The Lexington alert comes amid a string of separate Home Depot-related theft and arrest reports across the country. In southeast Houston, an episode outside a Home Depot in the 6800 block of Gulf Freeway near Woodridge involved a man seen leaving the store with construction wire he did not pay for, a loss-prevention clerk who tried to intervene, and an off-duty Houston police officer who stepped in at the passenger side as the suspect entered a vehicle. The officer was reportedly dragged by the vehicle during the struggle; Houston police later arrested a man who was found with a gunshot wound to one leg and taken to a hospital. A social media post identified a suspect as Jordan Morrell, 31, and said he was taken into custody in connection with shoplifting incidents at 15 Home Depot locations, but that identification has not been confirmed by law enforcement.
In New Hampshire, four people were arrested after an investigation into an alleged organized retail crime enterprise in Grafton County. Police charged all four with organized retail crime enterprise and charged Gauthier, Pilotte and Mooney with willful concealment; investigators say the group allegedly conspired to steal thousands of dollars of merchandise from a Home Depot between November and December 2025. Authorities say the criminal activity was reported by members of the Home Depot Asset Protection team and that the suspects were processed and released on bail pending an April court date.
A separate case in Massachusetts resulted in the arrest of Alphonso Walker Jr., 28, of Lowell, after he was found hiding inside a display shed outside the Home Depot at 85 Main St. Tewksbury police took Walker into custody on Nov. 8, 2025, charging him with unarmed robbery and other offenses; officers used K-9 units and a drone during an extensive search, and police say Walker was found with a stolen jacket that still contained the victim’s iPhone and other personal items.
Lexington police say the investigation into the Feb. 13 incident remains active and they are asking anyone with information to contact local authorities.
