Founded in 1939 and headquartered in Peachtree Corners, Georgia, Mingledorff's has spent 87 years building one of the Southeast's most recognized wholesale HVAC networks. Now, the family-owned company is changing hands. SRS Distribution Inc., a subsidiary of The Home Depot, entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Mingledorff's, Inc., a wholesale distributor of heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment, parts and supplies serving residential and commercial customers through 42 locations in five states across the southeastern U.S.

The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of fiscal 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions, and Home Depot said it plans to fund the deal with cash on hand and debt. Financial terms were not disclosed.

For Home Depot, the deal is less about adding locations than adding an entirely new product category to its wholesale arm. The Home Depot has been building differentiated offerings to better serve Pro customers, and through SRS, the company established a leading position in specialty trade distribution across multiple verticals including roofing and building products, interior and construction products, landscape and pool. The acquisition of Mingledorff's adds HVAC distribution as a new vertical.

HVAC distribution represents a total addressable market of approximately $100 billion, and the transaction will increase Home Depot's total addressable market to $1.2 trillion. That figure matters to store associates because it reflects where company investment, sales resources, and Pro contractor relationships are headed.

Ted Decker, chair, president and CEO of The Home Depot, framed the Mingledorff's deal as part of a larger HVAC ambition: "SRS is a growth engine for The Home Depot, and we continue to drive significant synergies that enable us to bring more innovation and value to our Pro customers. The addition of Mingledorff's will give us an incredible opportunity to build an enterprise-wide platform in HVAC equipment, replacement parts and supplies, creating another entry point into the broader distribution space."

SRS CEO Dan Tinker said the acquisition establishes another vertical that allows the company to serve new Pro contractors while enhancing its product offering to existing builder, general contractor and multifamily customers. "By adding a quality HVAC platform alongside our premier roofing, interior and exterior building materials, landscape and pool businesses, we can offer our customers unmatched product options and streamlined fulfillment — all from a single, trusted distribution partner."

Mingledorff's operates 42 distribution locations across Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, Florida and Mississippi. It is a key distributor of Carrier and Bryant HVAC equipment and has subsidiaries Holden & Associates, acquired in 1999, and Commercial Controls Group, Inc.

David Kesterton, president and CEO of Mingledorff's, described the deal as continuity rather than disruption: "Joining forces with SRS and The Home Depot marks an incredible new chapter in our company's history and gives us a powerful platform to broaden our reach and impact. As a family-owned business with a long-standing heritage of service, we have always prioritized deep partnerships and an unwavering commitment to our customers' success." Kesterton and his senior leadership team will continue to lead Mingledorff's as part of the SRS organization.

The Mingledorff's deal comes as SRS approaches the two-year mark since its $18 billion purchase by The Home Depot. Earlier in 2026, SRS had already made tuck-in acquisitions of Sider Lumber & Supply in Nesconset, New York; Outdoor Solutions in Lincoln, Nebraska; and LS Building Products in East Peoria, Illinois, each announced in late February. Mingledorff's is the largest and most strategically distinct of those moves, representing SRS's first step into HVAC at scale. For HVAC contractors across the Southeast who have worked with Mingledorff's for decades, the question now is whether that "service-first mission" survives the transition into a $1.2 trillion platform.
