Former Pizza Hut Site in St Helens Set for New Restaurant Use

The Pizza Hut building on Linkway West at St Helens' College Leisure Scheme, which went dark last autumn when the brand's UK operator fell into administration, is set to be repurposed for a new restaurant operator.

The St Helens location was among 68 dine-in restaurants and 11 delivery outlets shuttered across the UK after the company running Pizza Hut's British venues collapsed in 2025. The administration wiped out more than 1,200 jobs nationally, with the St Helens site among those that closed with immediate effect.

The Linkway West building sits at the heart of St Helens' leisure strip, anchored by an 11-screen Cineworld and flanked by the car park serving both the leisure park and The Range next door. The Saints Rugby League ground sits nearby, making the stretch one of the town's busiest food-and-entertainment corridors on match days.

For workers in St Helens' food-service sector, the arrival of a new operator at the site signals that the unit's footfall fundamentals remain strong even as the national Pizza Hut brand continues to face pressure. In the United States, Yum! Brands confirmed in February 2026 that around 250 Pizza Hut locations would close by mid-year as part of a strategic turnaround targeting underperforming stores, compounding the brand's earlier UK setbacks.

Whether the incoming St Helens restaurant fills its kitchen and front-of-house rosters with workers displaced from the original closure remains to be seen, but the site's central location and established parking give any new operator a ready-made platform.
