Bronx Deli Worker Stabbed with Glass Bottle, Two Suspects Still at Large
A 28-year-old Bronx deli worker was stabbed in the back with a broken bottle at Vidania Grocery Store on March 5; two suspects fled into a subway station and remain at large.

A 28-year-old worker at Vidania Grocery Store in the Bronx was stabbed in the back with a broken bottle and struck in the face with a glass bottle after two men picked a fight with him inside the deli at 124 East 176 St. in Mt. Hope. The attack happened around 7:15 p.m. on March 5, and as of this report, neither suspect has been arrested.
Police say the two men approached the worker, argued with him, then turned violent. One used a broken bottle to stab him in the back; the other swung a glass bottle at his face. Immediately after the assault, both suspects fled on foot into the 174-175 Streets subway station.
The NYPD has released surveillance images of the two men in an effort to identify them. One suspect was last seen wearing a black jacket, multicolored pants, and white sneakers. The second was wearing a black hat, a black jacket, blue jeans, and white sneakers.
For anyone working in a deli or corner grocery, the assault at Vidania is a stark reminder of how quickly a routine evening shift can turn dangerous. The attack came during a busy early-evening hour, inside the store itself, with no apparent barrier between the worker and his attackers.
