Margate police arrest Walmart employee Correy Evans for allegedly stealing trading cards
Margate police say Walmart employee Correy Evans “was arrested after being observed removing trading cards from packages and concealing them in his backpack,” with the total loss listed as $159.94.

A Margate police blotter entry identifies a Walmart store employee, Correy Evans, as the suspect in an alleged retail theft in which trading cards were removed from packages and hidden in a backpack. The blotter line states Evans “was arrested after being observed removing trading cards from packages and concealing them in his backpack.” The entry lists the “total loss” as $159.94.
The arrest appears in a weekly Margate Police Department roundup published Feb. 18, 2026; that posting says the department “responded to various incidents and made multiple arrests between February 10 and 16, 2026.” The blotter labels the item “Retail Theft Arrest - Walmart Employee.” The Margate post does not provide an age for Correy Evans, a precise arrest date, booking details, bond amount, or a court date.
The Margate blotter lists several other Walmart-related entries at the same store complex that uses the address 5555 W. Atlantic Blvd., though the Correy Evans line itself prints only “Walmart.” In the same roundup the blotter names Donald Bianculli, 62, arrested for trespassing at 5555 W. Atlantic Blvd., and James Chartoff, 62, cited in a separate retail-theft entry at the same address for allegedly taking clothing, USB cables and a small rug; a Notice to Appear was issued in Chartoff’s case. The Correy Evans line does not explicitly include the street address, so the store location is identified in the blotter only as “Walmart.”
Other arrests listed alongside the Evans item include Derrick Rivers, 59, on a domestic battery allegation in the NW 64 Terrace area; Richard Muir, 61, arrested for battery and public intoxication after an incident at Kaye Stevens Park, 5825 Royal Palm Blvd.; and a suspect identified only as Grant who was located and arrested near the 4900 block of W. Atlantic Blvd./Wawa on an allegation of attempting to lure a 14-year-old for sexual acts. The roundup also records a DUI arrest for Shawn Martin Haynes, 56, at 4900 W. Atlantic Blvd.; Rudecy Mendes Da Silva Junior, 49, arrested for domestic battery by strangulation in the E. Palm Dr. area; and several traffic- and warrant-related arrests including Manuel Coj Coj, 41, at 551 Kathy Ct., and Scott Stiefeld, 66, at 6300 Southgate Blvd.

A separate, unrelated Walmart theft case from Coral Springs appears in the collected material: at the Coral Springs store at 6001 Coral Ridge Drive, Asha Joanne Harrynarine, 46, was linked by a probable cause affidavit to a June 14 wallet theft. The Coral Springs account says “the wallet reportedly contained approximately $800 in cash, credit cards, and personal items,” that officers later recovered $800 in cash “that was turned over to the Coral Springs Police Department as evidence,” and that Harrynarine “was booked into the Broward County Jail and later released after posting a $2,500 bond.”
The Margate blotter provides the allegation and loss figure for the Evans arrest but leaves key procedural details unreported. The exact date and time of the alleged theft, the specific charges filed, who observed the removal of the trading cards, whether surveillance footage exists, whether Evans was booked or released, and whether the incident occurred at 5555 W. Atlantic Blvd. remain unresolved. Police reports, booking records and court filings will be required to clarify the case and whether the matter advances beyond the initial arrest recorded in the Feb. 18 police roundup.
