The strongest April drops are the ones that already know where they belong: on sand, in a carry-on, or slung over bare shoulders with no fuss. FARM Rio x Rip Curl feels like the cleanest answer for vacation dressing, while FP Movement x Cotopaxi lands squarely in the useful lane. Ganni’s Mini Hobo is the prettiest of the bunch, but it reads more like the finishing touch than the thing that builds the outfit.

FARM Rio and Rip Curl made their first collaboration together a beachy, color-forward capsule that launched on April 1 and sold through Rip Curl, FARM Rio, and select retailers. Rip Curl framed the project as a nod to both Australia and Brazil, and that makes sense: FARM Rio brings the tropical print language, while Rip Curl brings the surf logic. It is the kind of partnership that actually suits warm-weather wardrobes because it does not need styling heroics. The pieces are meant to move from shoreline to lunch to a hot sidewalk without looking overworked.

FP Movement’s collaboration with Cotopaxi takes a different route, but the practical appeal is just as strong. The limited-edition capsule includes trail-ready bags, packing cubes, a packable hat, and a classic 5-panel hat with an adjustable nylon strap and clip closure. Cotopaxi’s materials angle matters here too, with pieces described as recycled, eco-friendly, and durable, which is exactly the pitch summer accessories need when they are expected to survive travel, sweat, and last-minute plans. This is the drop for people who want gear that still looks polished enough to leave on a cafe chair without ruining the vibe.

Ganni is playing the moodier card. The Mini Hobo Bag first appeared on the runway at Paris Fashion Week, then returned in a campaign starring True Whitaker and shot by Gray Sorrenti. Ganni calls it the smallest member of its Hobo family, now back in new colors, textures, and unexpected finishes. It is the one item here that leans hardest into fashion for fashion’s sake, and that is fine. A compact bag with that much texture does not pretend to be a travel workhorse. It is a styling move, the kind that makes a plain tank, worn denim, or a linen set look intentional in one swing.

That is the real split across April’s launches. FARM Rio x Rip Curl and FP Movement x Cotopaxi earn their place because they solve a wardrobe problem. Ganni’s Mini Hobo earns its place because it knows how to finish the sentence.
