Eva Longoria stuns in Sergio Hudson sequined gown at Cannes
Chocolate brown, not black, was the power move: Eva Longoria’s Sergio Hudson gown turned sequins into polished, body-skimming glamour at Cannes.
Chocolate brown did what black usually does at Cannes: it took over the frame. Eva Longoria stepped onto the Croisette in a Sergio Hudson spring 2026 sleeveless sequined gown, and the color was the first thing that landed, rich and glossy, with enough depth to feel as formal as black but warmer, softer, and more expensive-looking. The gown hugged close through the body, opened at the bodice with a keyhole cutout, and finished in a liquid skirt with a small train that moved like it had been poured on.
Hudson knows exactly how to make glamour feel wearable, and this look was textbook Sergio Hudson. Longoria paired the dress with gold hoop earrings, bangle bracelets, and rings, letting the metal echo the brown tone instead of fighting it. The effect was polished but not precious, which is the whole point of Hudson’s best work: strong lines, precise construction, and enough body-conscious shape to feel intentional without turning stiff. Even the sequins read controlled, not loud, because the silhouette did the talking.

That matters because Hudson is not just making pretty red-carpet clothes. He established Sergio Hudson Collections in 2016 as a women’s ready-to-wear brand built on power dressing, and his spring 2026 collection, which debuted at New York Fashion Week in September 2025, was a 35-piece argument for getting dressed with purpose again. Backstage, Hudson said he wanted to bring joy and make people want to dress up, especially after a dark stretch when his clients needed pieces that felt special. The sequin looks in the collection were also accented with jewelry from Sister Love, Simone I.’s line, which kept the shine rooted in the same warm, feminine register Longoria wore on the carpet.

Longoria has clearly bought into that vision for years. WWD noted she has long supported Hudson and has worn his designs before, including to the Time Latino Leaders Dinner in November 2023. At the 79th Cannes Film Festival, which ran from May 12 to May 23, 2026 with Park Chan-wook as jury president and Demi Moore and Ruth Negga among the jury members, Longoria arrived looking like someone who came ready for a full fashion run, not a single photo call. The chocolate-brown gown made the case that Hudson’s glamour does not need black to feel powerful.
