Nike and the LEGO Group are building on their partnership in the most literal sense possible: a 1,213-piece LEGO brick set of the Air Max 95 "Neon," paired with a matching kids' Air Max 95 Big Bubble sneaker, launches globally on March 28, two days after Air Max Day.

Set number 43025 retails for $99.99 (£89.99/€99.99), is rated 12+, and will be available through LEGO.com, LEGO Stores, and Nike. It follows last year's 43008 Nike Dunk, the collaboration's first sneaker model, but this one carries noticeably more cultural weight. As one sneaker blogger put it, this is "the first time that LEGO have intentionally produced a model that's a replica of a popular sneaker with actual sneakerhead pedigree" — a distinction that matters when the Air Max 95 "Neon" has just been retroed by Nike and is already on feet across the globe.

The build itself is a careful translation of the 1995 runner's signature design language: gradient grey panels, wave-like layering, and Volt/neon yellow accents reproduced in brick. Translucent LEGO elements stand in for the visible Air cushioning bubble on the sole, and the set's standout detail is the Nike Air Bubble logo, constructed from pearlescent and opalescent pieces that Jaysbrickblog described as carrying "a great satin sheen." Collectors in the LEGO community have also flagged the set's parts as unusually desirable: the 1,213-piece build reportedly includes pieces in the new Bluish Violet colorway on the base, some rare Titanium Metallic plates, and transparent-opalescent slopes used to form the "AIR" lettering.

Beyond the brick build, the set ships with a display stand, a hidden drawer in the base for storing trinkets, and a customizable minifigure dressed in a Nike windbreaker jacket, a hoodie and cap bearing the Nike swoosh, and Air Max 95s printed on its feet. Gender customization is built in.

The kids' Air Max 95 Big Bubble sneaker that accompanies the set is engineered with a breathable mesh upper backed by synthetic leather, with a visible Max Air unit providing cushioning. Its most technically interesting feature is a design technique that makes flat, two-dimensional elements appear three-dimensional, creating what Nike describes as "a playful optical illusion that tricks the eye and adds visual depth to the shoe."

Federico Begher, SVP of Product Group and New Businesses at the LEGO Group, framed the release as a cultural moment: "The Air Max 95 is a symbol of innovation and cultural significance, becoming a staple in streetwear and a canvas for self-expression. Our new Nike Air Max 95 x LEGO Collection honours this legacy, inviting kids to explore its timeless appeal through creative and active play and encouraging them to express themselves in every way possible."

For the sneakerhead who recently copped the Air Max 95 "Neon" reissue, the LEGO counterpart offers a display-worthy companion that costs less than the shoes themselves.
