Posse opens first New York store on Bleecker Street
Posse planted its first stand-alone New York flag on Bleecker Street as U.S. demand outpaced the brand’s wider business. The West Village shop turns quiet-luxury dressing into a permanent retail bet.

Posse did not choose Bleecker Street as a decorative gesture. The Sydney womenswear label opened its first stand-alone New York store at 392 Bleecker Street in the West Village after the United States became its strongest market, with New York its top-performing state and the brand’s American audience growing at twice the pace of its overall business.
The boutique opened on Monday, May 12, 2026, and the address lands the brand in one of Manhattan’s most closely watched retail corridors, where fashion and lifestyle labels increasingly use physical space to signal staying power. Posse’s own instinct was to make the store feel less like a showroom than a private residence: timeless, lived-in and softly edited, with vintage and custom pieces chosen to echo the label’s quiet, unfussy aesthetic.
That restraint has been central to Posse since Danielle Mulham founded the brand in 2016. Its appeal is built on slow fashion, limited production runs, premium natural fabrics and a permanent L’Essentials collection designed to outlast trend cycles rather than chase them. The New York store carries pre-fall, L’Essentials and exclusive handbags by Underwater Weaving in custom colorways, a mix that reads as strategically narrow rather than sprawling, the kind of assortment meant to reward repeat visits and convert online familiarity into an in-person wardrobe habit.
Mulham has said the Bleecker Street opening was commercially logical and personally meaningful, shaped in part by childhood memories of coming to the West Village with her family. That emotional pull matters because Posse’s retail move is also a business signal. WWD reported that the company’s global business was up 37 percent year over year, supported by wholesale partners including Net-a-porter, Moda Operandi, Mytheresa and Selfridges. The New York store now gives that growth a visible address.
Posse has also tightened the mechanics behind its U.S. business. Since April 9, 2026, the brand has been shipping U.S. orders from a Texas-based warehouse, eliminating duties and import fees for American customers and streamlining returns. Taken together, the warehouse shift and the Bleecker Street opening show a label moving past digital discovery and into the harder, more committed phase of retail: meeting customers where they already are, then giving them a place to return to.
