Vivobarefoot Opens First U.S. Flagship in SoHo, Bringing Biophilic Design Stateside
Vivobarefoot's first U.S. flagship opens at 248 Lafayette Street in June, with a recommerce program already driving up to 15% of the brand's total sales.

Vivobarefoot will open its first U.S. flagship store in SoHo this June at 248 Lafayette Street, bringing the British barefoot brand's biophilic retail concept to American soil for the first time.
The 1,500-square-foot space follows the nature-led format already in place at the brand's London and Bristol flagships: a light-filled, plant-rich interior built around natural materials and calming scents, designed to help shoppers "slow down, breathe and reconnect with their feet." The buildout reflects those same principles, relying on renewable materials, modular fittings, low-energy systems, and circular design practices throughout.
The store functions as much as a movement practice space as a retail floor. Foot scanning and movement analysis, one-on-one natural movement coaching, and weekly events and workshops led by natural movement specialists are all part of the in-store programming. A VivoBiome preview area will showcase Vivobarefoot's circular, made-to-measure footwear innovations and serve as a community hub for shoppers and locals. The brand's ReVivo recommerce program, which supplies repaired and reconditioned footwear, will also be accessible in-store; ReVivo currently accounts for up to 15 percent of Vivobarefoot's total sales, a figure that signals how seriously the brand's customers have embraced the buy-less, repair-more model.

Co-founder and CEO Galahad Clark framed the SoHo opening in terms that reach well beyond store count. "My family has been making shoes for seven generations," Clark said. "Vivobarefoot began with a simple but uncomfortable truth: modern footwear is part of the problem, so we chose to do something about it. New Yorkers walk more than almost anyone on earth, yet most do so in shoes that disconnect them from the ground beneath them. This store is an invitation to reconnect, to rediscover what your feet are actually designed to do." Clark cited SoHo's high pedestrian traffic as the deciding factor in choosing the neighborhood.
The SoHo store follows Vivobarefoot's recent establishment of a regional U.S. headquarters in Austin, Texas, and represents the brand's deliberate push to anchor community-driven, circular retail experiences in key American markets. "When you restore natural movement, you don't just change how you walk, you change your relationship with your body, with your health, and ultimately with the planet," Clark said. "We believe footwear can be regenerative. Free your feet, and the rest will follow.
