The Authentic Original 2-Eye Jelly Boat Shoe in semi-sheer Mandarin Orange arrived at Nordstrom this month, marking the first time Sperry has ever collaborated with New York ready-to-wear label Monse on a footwear capsule. The eight-style limited-edition collection, priced from $195 to $395, first turned heads on Monse's spring/summer 2026 runway during New York Fashion Week in September before landing exclusively at Nordstrom, Shopbop, sperry.com, and monse.com.

The collaboration threads two distinct design languages into a single silhouette. Monse co-creative directors Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia brought grommet hardware, graffiti-inspired graphics, and a semi-sheer jelly material — new territory for Sperry — to the brand's Authentic Original boat shoe. The Jelly Boat Shoe, finished with woven shoelaces and offered in both Mandarin Orange and Seaglass, retails for $195. The Authentic Original 2-Eye Lug Boat Shoe, the collection's highest-priced piece at $395, sits a chunky platform heel beneath remodeled uppers in denim, khaki, and classic leather.

"For our first foray into footwear, we wanted to create designs that feel modern and truly wearable, while honoring Sperry's heritage and craftsmanship," Kim and Garcia said in a joint statement. "This collection explores texture and detail in a way that balances bold, signature Monse elements with timeless silhouettes, making each pair both functional and full of personality."

The partnership had a longer runway than most collaborations. Sperry president Jonathan Frankel noted the brands had been building toward this moment through previous runway show partnerships before formalizing a co-designed capsule. "The Sperry x Monse collection shows how boundless the boat shoe can be and reflects the innovative spirit that the brand has carried for 90 years," Frankel said. "This partnership has been a long time in the making, and it shows how a shared vision and dedication can create something transformative."

As a gift, the Jelly Boat Shoe at $195 is the more accessible entry point into a collection that otherwise lives comfortably in the $300-plus range occupied by mid-tier designer footwear. The platform lug versions in denim and khaki are the kind of shoes that read as a considered, specific choice rather than a safe one — which is exactly what separates a memorable gift from a forgettable one. The full eight-style range is available now across all four exclusive retail channels, with the SS26 season providing natural momentum for a shoe built around spring's return.
