Ozwald Boateng and Savoir unveil bespoke bed made by one artisan
One artisan makes and signs every Authenticity bed, turning Boateng and Savoir’s collaboration into a collectible heirloom.

Savoir and Ozwald Boateng turned a bed into a signed object of design. Authenticity is handmade to order in London by a single craftsperson, takes more than 200 hours to complete, and is signed when finished, which is exactly the kind of scarcity luxury buyers understand when they are shopping beyond watches and leather goods.
The craftsmanship reads like Savile Row translated into interiors. Authenticity pairs a sculptural headboard framed in solid oak with bespoke woven leather inspired by traditional Kente cloth, developed with Alma. The base is wrapped in Whistler Leather’s embossed Tangier Onyx full-grain leather, and the reverse of the headboard is finished in Dedar Tabularasa Col. 163 Smeraldo, giving the whole piece the polished, inside-out confidence of a tailored jacket.
That is why the collaboration fits so neatly with Savoir’s own history. The company traces its roots to the Savoy Hotel in 1905, and Authenticity works with the Nº2 bed set, the model commissioned for the Savoy and still taking more than 80 hours to handcraft. Savoir says each bespoke bed is entrusted to a single artisan and made in the UK from natural materials, which is also why its price tier is squarely in collectible territory: the Nº2 mattress starts at $24,060 and the Nº1 climbs to $63,825. For a wedding, a serious housewarming, or a milestone anniversary, this is the sort of gift that lands as a commission, not a purchase.

Boateng’s background gives the piece its sharpest edge. He began tailoring at 16, opened his Savile Row headquarters in 2002, and Savoir describes him as a British Ghanaian designer whose architectural approach has shaped menswear for almost four decades. Authenticity carries that same point of view into a bedroom, with a lead time of roughly 16 to 18 weeks and the feel of something meant to be lived with, not merely admired.
