Meltio Names 3D Technology Ltd Official Irish Metal Additive Manufacturing Partner
Meltio named Galway-based 3D Technology Ltd its official Irish partner, giving manufacturers in Ireland and Northern Ireland local wire-LMD support for the first time.

Meltio, the Linares, Spain-based wire-laser metal deposition manufacturer, named 3D Technology Ltd. its official sales and technical support partner for Ireland and Northern Ireland in a press release dated March 9, 2026, putting local access to metal additive manufacturing solutions on Irish soil for the first time through a company with offices in Belfast, Galway, and Meath.
The partnership hands 3D Technology Ltd. responsibility for Meltio's full portfolio across the territory, covering consultation, solution design, installation, maintenance, training, and application development. The explicit aim is supply chain independence for Irish manufacturers working in production, repair, tooling, and hybrid manufacturing workflows.
Meltio's technology centers on wire-laser metal deposition, a process that uses welding wire as feedstock. The company positions welding wire as the safest, cleanest, and most affordable metal feedstock available for industrial environments, a claim that carries practical weight in a market where powder-based metal AM has historically come with handling and cost barriers that put smaller manufacturers off.
James Wall, Managing Director at 3D Technology Ltd., was direct about the opportunity: "We are incredibly excited to partner with Meltio and bring their world-class metal additive manufacturing technology to Ireland and Northern Ireland. Meltio's wire-LMD systems are transforming how companies think about metal production, repair, and hybrid manufacturing. This partnership aligns perfectly with our mission to deliver innovative, reliable, and accessible advanced manufacturing solutions to our customers. We look forward to supporting Irish industry as it embraces the next generation of metal AM."
Adam Hourigan, Meltio's UK, Ireland, and APAC Channel Sales Manager, framed the partnership as a deliberate push for ground-level presence rather than remote support: "We are delighted to welcome 3D Technology Ltd. as our official sales and technical support partner for Ireland and Northern Ireland. Now, customers in Ireland can gain access to solutions on their own soil from trusted advisors. The team at 3D Technology Ltd. is well respected for their strong engineering expertise, deep understanding of the Irish manufacturing landscape, and commitment to customer success — this combination makes them the ideal partner to drive the adoption of Meltio's wire-laser metal deposition technology in the region. Our partnership represents an important step in strengthening our presence across the Irish territory, and in supporting manufacturers as they transition toward more flexible..."
Johannes Werner, Engineering Manager at 3D Technology Ltd., added the engineering team's perspective on why wire-LMD fits the Irish manufacturing context: "Meltio's technology represents a major step forward for manufacturers who want the flexibility of additive manufacturing combined with the robustness of traditional metalworking. Their wire-LMD process is clean, safe, and industrially reliable, qualities that matter deeply to our engineering team and our customers. We're excited to integrate Meltio systems into real-world production environments and help companies unlock new levels of capability and efficiency."
The announcement landed alongside several other moves in the additive sector. Roboze secured an investment from U.S. venture capital firm Rule 1 Ventures to accelerate its AI-driven distributed manufacturing platform, described as a scalable system spanning functional prototyping through final part production. No investment amount was disclosed. Elsewhere, Future Form added HP Additive Manufacturing Solutions to its services portfolio, Ter Hoek Vonkerosie Rijssen B.V. expanded into technical ceramics by adopting XJet's Carmel 1400C system, and CEAD Group installed a WEIMA Maschinenbau GmbH shredder to process leftover 3D printed parts while investigating pathways to turn that shredded waste into usable new materials.
For Meltio, the Irish partnership is a concrete foothold in a manufacturing market that has been historically underserved by metal AM providers with local engineering depth. Three offices across the island means 3D Technology Ltd. can put engineers in front of customers rather than routing support tickets through the continent.
