Wohlers Report 2026 Released; Farsoon Targets Africa, Meltio Hybrid System, Carbon CTO
Wohlers Report 2026 puts global AM revenues at $24.2B for 2025, up 10.9% year-over-year, with printing services holding 48% of the market and utilization rising over new machine sales.

Wohlers Report 2026 shows global additive manufacturing revenues reached $24.2 billion in 2025, a 10.9% year-over-year increase, while printing services accounted for the market’s largest share at 48%. The report frames the market as more regional and utilization-driven, with companies squeezing more production from installed systems rather than buying fleets of new machines.
Wohlers Associates released the 2026 edition via ASTM’s new digital platform on February 17, 2026; the publication is the report’s 31st year and is presented on the platform with options to buy a print edition and sign in for access. The platform highlights expanded coverage of China, M&A, patent activity, regulatory developments, and recent technical breakthroughs shaping materials and processes.
Dr. Mahdi Jamshid, Director of Market Intelligence at Wohlers Associates, summarized the shift in market dynamics: “Additive manufacturing is no longer advancing on a single, uniform growth curve. What we see in Wohlers Report 2026 is an industry adjusting to tighter capital conditions, more selective investment, and higher expectations for utilization and return,” Growth continues, but it is more uneven, more regional, and more closely tied to real production outcomes. The report also notes rising material sales as a supporting indicator of increased machine utilization.

Endorsers on the Wohlers platform underscored the report’s practical value. Zane Ross, Engagement Manager at America Makes, called it “the guide I always keep at hand for consultation. It is really a vade mecum for those looking for an edge in an increasingly complex industry to navigate.” Gianluca Mattaroccia, Engineering Fellow at The Estée Lauder Companies, wrote, “No other report on additive manufacturing comes close to offering what is available in the Wohlers Report. I rely on it year after year.” Fried Vancraen, Founder and CEO of Materialise, added, “Anyone with serious interest in professional 3D printing should be reading the Wohlers Report. There's no better resource for anyone in the business of digital fabrication. It is the industry bible.”
Separately, corporate moves reported in a February 19 news brief included Jason Rolland being named Chief Technical Officer at Carbon; the brief described Rolland as a longtime Carbon employee but provided no further biographical detail. Farsoon announced a partnership with Addimax to expand its industrial 3D printing footprint across Sub-Saharan Africa, with no contract terms disclosed in the announcement.

Meltio and Snowbird Technologies announced a containerized hybrid manufacturing system, framed in the brief as defense news, though technical specifications and deployment plans were not supplied. Meltio, based in Linares, Spain, also appointed Automation Engineering Company (AEC) of Greer, South Carolina, as an official Meltio U.S. sales and integration partner.
From the trade-show circuit, Formnext Mesago items republished in the same feed note that Croom Medical has broken ground on an Advanced Centre of Orthopaedic Technologies in Limerick, Ireland, a project valued at €18 million for a 38,000 sq ft facility. The Wohlers platform lists Reports and insights, Market explorer, Company tracker, pricing, and an FAQ for readers seeking the full tables and regional breakdowns that underpin the 2026 analysis.
