Boca West Unveils $20 Million Racquets and Pickleball Complex
Boca West's $20M complex will give its 6,000+ members 25 pickleball courts, a dedicated pro shop, and a stadium court where the Palm Beach Royals will practice.

Nine months after breaking ground, Boca West Country Club is weeks away from completing one of the most ambitious private-club pickleball builds in the country: a $20 million racquets facility anchored by 25 dedicated pickleball courts, with a targeted opening by the end of May.
The $20 million racquets facility, featuring a new Pickleball Center, is scheduled for completion in May 2026. The scale goes well beyond a simple court addition. The center will feature 25 total courts, including 12 covered courts, a dedicated Stadium Court, new bathrooms, showers, and locker facilities, a brand-new retail shop, a wraparound terrace with extensive seating, and a flexible Event Lawn designed for social gatherings, exhibitions, and special programming.
The engineering behind the covered courts is worth noting. The 12 covered courts were carefully designed with louvered panels to keep out rain while also allowing wind to flow in, and the ceilings stand 20 feet tall — high enough that even an aggressive lob won't clip the roof. That level of design intentionality signals that Boca West built this facility with competitive play in mind, not just recreational use.

The stadium court reinforces that point. The Palm Beach Royals, a Premier Major League Pickleball team, will practice there part of the time, according to Rob Norton, Boca West's Director of Racquet Sports. Members can watch those practice sessions from a newly built grandstand. Norton has made no secret of what he expects this facility to become: "As far as keeping up with the Joneses, we believe that we are the Joneses," he said. "We will be the only country club in the county with a dedicated pickleball pro shop. And as for those national tournaments, we expect to feature A-list players for our members to watch."
The club is growing from 14 courts to 25, a number that reflects just how dramatically pickleball demand has shifted inside the gates of this 1,400-acre community. Located in the heart of Boca Raton in Palm Beach County, Boca West Country Club is a private, resident-only luxury community with four championship golf courses, an award-winning USTA tennis facility, a luxurious spa, six renowned restaurants, and an active social community.
The pickleball complex sits inside a much larger capital push. The center follows several transformative enhancements, including the $70 million, 110,000-square-foot, fully renovated, two-story Lifestyle Center, the state-of-the-art 96,000-square-foot Aquatic Complex featuring five resort-style pools and a new poolside restaurant bar, a new covered outdoor dining and interactive golf suite experience, and ongoing multi-year golf course redesigns led by Fry/Straka Global Golf Course Design.

Matthew Linderman, President and Chief Operating Officer, framed the racquets facility within that ongoing commitment: "Boca West has a long-standing history and rich tradition of bringing the very best amenities to our members. We continue to invest in sports, recreation, dining, and wellness experiences that meet and exceed member expectations."
Palm Beach County now has its first professional pickleball team, and pickleball has been the fastest-growing sport in the United States for four years in a row. Boca West is positioning itself at the center of that momentum, and a MLP franchise practicing on its courts before the facility even celebrates its first anniversary is a signal that the club intends to stay there.
