Ducks Boxtel launches 2026 season with full club calendar
Ducks Boxtel paired its 2026 opener with an April-May club calendar, from a pub quiz to volunteer field work, ahead of Heren 1’s 10 May home-day launch.

Ducks Boxtel is treating the 2026 season as a club calendar, not just a run of fixtures. In its 7 April update, Honk- en Softbalvereniging J.R.C. Ducks laid out April and May activities, including a pub quiz, to keep members, families and supporters involved while the games get underway.
That off-field work was no afterthought. Volunteers spent Saturday 5 April preparing the fields so they would be speelklaar when competition began, and Ducks had already flagged the season opening on 3 April. The club will mark the official launch on Sunday 10 May at 14:00, timed around a home game for Heren 1 so the whole club can gather around one afternoon.
The approach fits a club that has been part of Boxtel since 1900. On its own website, J.R.C. Ducks describes itself as serving both broad participation and high performance for young and old. It lists its address as Voetboog 20, 5283 WL Boxtel, and says much of the internal communication runs through WhatsApp groups, a sign of a modern volunteer-led structure that still depends on close coordination.
The wider competition calendar is already in place too. The KNBSB, which describes itself as the authority for baseball and softball in the Netherlands, has published the 2026 speeldagenkalenders for baseball, softball and the lower divisions. That gave Ducks a clear frame for its own spring planning, with the club’s teams also said to be starting the new season after several preparatory matches, according to Boxteldigitaal.
For Ducks, that is the real shape of a Dutch club spring. The baseball and softball year begins with practice and field work, but it is sustained by the pub quiz, the volunteers, the family afternoons and the shared opening day around Heren 1. In Boxtel, the season is built to keep the club moving long after the first pitch.
