Black Ops 7 Season 3 patch fixes multiplayer, Ranked Play, Zombies bugs

What feels different tonight: the April 14 patch fixes Plaza sightlines, Abyss out-of-bounds spawns, and a Ranked Play SR bug that had been punishing Overload teams.

What feels different tonight is less about new content and more about the bugs that finally got kicked out of the way. The April 14 Season 03 patch for Black Ops 7 landed as a broad cleanup pass, folding in earlier April 2 and April 9 hotfixes and then tightening up multiplayer, Ranked Play, Zombies, Endgame, and challenge tracking after a busy season launch.

The biggest multiplayer fixes are the ones players will notice immediately in live matches. Collision issues on Cliff Town and Beacon were smoothed out, which matters because bad collision can turn clean routes into stutter steps and ruined gunfights. Activision also closed an exploit that let players escape the playspace, and it corrected Torque and Paradox Junction problems that could break matches or trap players in boss-fight logic. On Plaza, collision issues that allowed unintended sightlines were fixed, which should matter right away in a map where one broken angle can turn into a free pick every round.

Ranked Play picked up two fixes that change how competitive sessions feel. The Overload overtime technical-tie SR loss bug is now formally addressed, so players should stop getting punished by a bizarre edge case that turned a tied round into a standings headache. The VS Recon is also back in Search and Destroy after being unintentionally restricted, restoring a weapon option that competitive players had been working around for too long. The patch also changed Overload timing so the clock no longer pauses while someone is holding the device, a small rule tweak that closes another exploit-prone wrinkle in the mode.

Zombies and Endgame were not left behind. Tactical Insertion on Abyss had been able to spawn players outside the playspace, and that has been fixed. In Endgame, the Aether Blade no longer burns a charge on the first use when it does not hit an enemy, which is the kind of maddening resource loss that can wreck a run in a hurry. The Dark Ops “Off Meta” Calling Card Challenge tracking issue was also corrected, giving challenge hunters a clean path again.

Season 03 itself arrived on April 2, bringing Beacon and Abyss to Multiplayer, the returning Plaza and Gridlock, the Ashwood Survival map in Zombies, and a limited-time free-to-play Endgame period. With April 9 and April 10 updates already pushing out more fixes, the April 14 patch reads like the stabilization pass this season needed after a heavy content drop.
