Call of Duty Mobile Season 3 Paranoia Launches March 18 With Cosmic Horror Theme
CODM's Season 3 Paranoia dropped March 18 with cosmic horror vibes, a full-auto shotgun, an item-duplicating BR class, and collabs with Pop Team Epic and NieR: Automata.

Season 3 of Call of Duty: Mobile arrived with a mandate to unsettle: "Check your sanity at the door as cosmic horrors unleash across Season 3." Titled Paranoia, the season went live March 18 at 4PM PT, with Activision's live-ops team packing the update with a new game mode, two crossover collabs, fresh weapons, and a Battle Royale class built around one of the more unusual mechanics the game has introduced in recent memory.
The headlining addition is DMZ: Recon Quick Play, a new mode designed for shorter, sharper sessions. Activision billed it as delivering "quicker, more intense matches," and while the full rule set is still being worked through by the community, the mode slots into the DMZ framework as a faster alternative to the standard extraction pacing players already know.
On the weapons and class side, the MX Guardian Shotgun enters the loadout pool as a full-auto option, a fire mode that should push it well outside the niche of conventional pump or semi-auto shotguns. The Tactical Mirror joins as a new Battle Royale class with the ability to duplicate items, a mechanic with obvious implications for inventory management and late-game pressure that players are already testing in live matches.
The season's two collaborations cover notably different corners of pop culture. Pop Team Epic, the absurdist manga and anime property, makes its CODM debut this season, while NieR: Automata content returns to the game having previously appeared in an earlier season. Specific operator skins and event items tied to both collabs had not been fully detailed at launch, but both represent confirmed partnerships with the respective property rights holders.
On the cosmetic side, the Vintage Vigilance Battle Pass also arrived alongside the season, giving players a second shot at a noir-themed collection that includes operator skins Sliver "Deadly Elegance" and Ethan "Grizzled Detective," as well as weapon blueprints for the Tec-9 "The Classic" and M13 "Chrome Cruiser." A separate brand-new Battle Pass and the Season 3 Challenge Pass round out the paid progression options for the season.
Free content is also in the picture. The Spring Invasion event runs as a no-cost, grindable reward track offering high-quality operator skins and cosmetics, while the web store is running a rotating free daily gift program with a new item available each day. New store drops and additional events fill out the rest of the season's reward calendar.
Paranoia marks a deliberately disorienting creative direction for Season 3, and early days in the live game will determine how much the Tactical Mirror reshapes Battle Royale lobby dynamics alongside the arrival of the MX Guardian.
