Call of Duty: Mobile is about to flip Season 4 into full monster-movie mode, but the crossover is only half the story. The season, titled Eternal Prison, is set to go live at 5 PM PT on April 22, and the official teaser makes the theme plain: “The Titans are coming.” Godzilla x Kong is not just a shop skin drop here; it is being used as the backbone of the season’s identity.

That spectacle matters, but the parts that will change daily play are the map and mode updates. Rebirth Island is coming to Battle Royale and into DMZ, and that is the kind of addition COD Mobile players feel immediately. Rebirth Island is built for nonstop action, with 11 major Points of Interest and the tighter, circular flow that made it a fan favorite in Warzone. On mobile, that means shorter rotations, faster third-party fights, and far less dead space than the bigger BR maps players grind today.

Season 4 also gives everyone a concrete progression target: the Vargo S assault rifle will be unlockable for free at Tier 21 of the Battle Pass. That is the sort of unlock that changes the first week of a season, because it puts a new weapon in reach almost immediately instead of locking it behind a premium purchase. The Tactical Bouncer BR class adds another real gameplay wrinkle, letting players deploy jump pads for mobility and flanking. If that sounds familiar, it should. Activision used jump pads in Battle Royale during Season 4: Infinity Realm in April 2025, and that same mobility-first idea is back here.

The DMZ side looks like the wild card. InsideSport says the mode is getting a major facelift with a new boss, crafting, and reworked extraction mechanics. If that holds up in-game, Eternal Prison will not just be a cosmetic crossover season; it will change how squads move, loot, and escape under pressure. A more dangerous extraction loop is the kind of update that can reshape the mode’s entire pace overnight.

The timing also shows Activision knows how to stage a launch. Season 4: Fool’s Gold opened on April 17, 2024, at 5 PM PT, while Infinity Realm arrived in April 2025 with the Vargo-S, a new Chase map, updated Arena mode, and jump pads. Eternal Prison looks like the same playbook turned up another notch: a loud crossover up front, then the real gameplay changes underneath. The Godzilla vs. Kong event itself is slated to kick off on April 24, two days after the season launch, keeping the spotlight on the update after day one.
