Activision has confirmed that Plaza, the classic Black Ops II multiplayer map, is returning to Black Ops 7 following revelations dropped in COD POD Episode 10. The announcement comes as part of a broader wave of updates that also includes Zombies legacy weapons.

There's a naming detail worth flagging here. The original confirmation uses the name "Plaza," while the official Black Ops 7 map copy refers to the returning BO2 location as "Slums," describing its central Plaza as "one of the most iconic Multiplayer map locations in the Black Ops series." The two likely refer to the same physical space: Slums is the map name, and Plaza is its signature centerpiece. The official description puts players fighting around that central Plaza "adjacent to the infamous Electronics chokepoint providing cover in a tight space at a meeting point between the middle and bottom lanes." If you played Slums back in BO2, you know exactly what that chokepoint feels like.

For context on where Plaza sits in the original game's history: it was one of 14 launch multiplayer maps in Black Ops II, set near the Indian Ocean, with several shops and buildings connecting in a V-shaped format and a relatively open road running through the middle. It's a compact, readable layout that rewards positional awareness more than raw gunfighting.

Slums joins two other returning Black Ops 2 classics at launch, including Raid, reimagined in a near-future Tokyo setting. Black Ops 7 launched November 14, 2025 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC with 16 total 6v6 maps: 13 all-new and 3 returning BO2 fan favorites, plus 2 large-scale maps. Treyarch and Raven Software are credited as developers on the title.

The broader Season 02 Reloaded update is also bringing a new assault rifle to the mix. The Voyak KT-3 is described as carrying characteristics similar to the AK-27 but with a slightly slower rate of fire and shorter range, while sharing the fast handling and mobility associated with the Peacekeeper AR. A full reveal is expected when Season 02 Reloaded goes live; no specific date for that drop has been announced yet.

With Plaza confirmed and COD POD continuing to surface new details each episode, Season 02 Reloaded is shaping up to be a significant content push for Black Ops 7.
