Drazah had one message for OpTic Texas after FaZe Vegas lifted the CDL Major II trophy at DreamHack Birmingham: he runs OpTic. The trash talk was bold, but the weekend backed it up. FaZe had already lost to OpTic in the upper bracket, survived the lower bracket, and swept OpTic 3-0 in the grand final on March 29 to claim $150,000 and 100 CDL points.

The bracket trajectory made that ending all the more striking. On Saturday at Marston Green, England, both squads looked untouchable. OpTic demolished G2 Minnesota 3-0 with scores that weren't close: 250-107 on Den Hardpoint, 6-2 on Raid Search and Destroy, and 4-2 on Den Overload. FaZe was equally clinical, shutting out Paris Gentle Mates, who had won the first CDL Major of 2026, by scores of 250-190 on Exposure Hardpoint, a decisive 6-0 on Raid Search and Destroy, and 3-2 to close out Exposure Overload.

When FaZe and OpTic met in the upper bracket, OpTic took the series 3-1 and sent FaZe to the lower bracket. FaZe dispatched Toronto KOI to stay alive and force a rematch. By the time the grand final began, OpTic had dropped just one map across the entire weekend, and they entered as clear favorites to close it out at home.

The grand final dismantled that expectation map by map. FaZe took the opening Hardpoint cleanly. OpTic pushed back during Search and Destroy on Raid, keeping the match competitive, but it was the Scar Overload that broke everything open. FaZe seized control there and never released it, adding Hardpoint on Exposure and finishing with Search and Destroy on Exposure to complete the 3-0 sweep and claim the CDL Major II title in Birmingham.

The 25-point gap between FaZe (100) and OpTic (75) from this event arrives at a critical moment in the push toward Champs seeding. With cumulative points dictating bracket position at the end of the year, FaZe's Major II haul puts real distance between them and the field while OpTic has to process a grand final loss to a team they had already beaten 3-1 earlier in the same weekend. Paris Gentle Mates, despite being one of the few organizations to consistently challenge OpTic in 2026, added just 30 points after falling to FaZe on Saturday.

Drazah's trash talk will be the clip that circulates, but the result underneath it is the actual statement: FaZe Vegas took the harder path through Birmingham, came back from the lower bracket, and walked away with the Major II title when it counted.
