Paramount’s Call of Duty movie landed in the Modern Warfare universe, putting the franchise’s most recognizable modern-day setting at the center of its first major big-screen adaptation. The live-action film carried a reported theatrical date of June 30, 2028, and Taylor Sheridan was attached to develop it with Peter Berg directing.

That universe choice tells fans exactly where Paramount thinks Call of Duty still has its strongest pull.
