Aquila 46 Yacht earns praise as a refined offshore cruiser

Aquila Catamarans used a June 23 post to put the 46 Yacht back in front of buyers just as the 2026 power-cat market is sorting out which new launches deserve a shortlist. The timing matters because Yacht Style had already singled out the model in a June 11 review, then crowned it Power Catamaran 12-16m at the Yacht Style Awards 2026 in Singapore.

That recognition gives the 46 Yacht an unusually clear brief in the market: it is not trying to shock the category, but to replace a known winner without breaking the formula. Aquila says the boat follows the 44 Yacht, a platform that sold more than 200 units over 11 years, and Yacht Style traced that lineage back to the 44 Yacht’s 2014 introduction and its reputation as a cruising powercat that found a wide audience.

The appeal starts with the layout. Aquila lists a 23'3" beam and flexible 3-, 4- or 5-cabin configurations, while the review focus was on the full-beam master suite and the kind of indoor-outdoor entertaining flow that makes a cat feel much larger than its 46-foot label suggests. Yachting magazine made that same point, describing the boat as one that can feel much bigger than a 46-footer because of its expansive interior volume. For buyers comparing midsize cats, that matters as much as styling, because it speaks directly to how the boat will live at anchor, on weekends, and on longer runs with family or guests.

The offshore story is just as important. Aquila says the 46 Yacht carries CE Category A ocean certification and offers an optional Hydro Glide foil system, a combination that pushes the boat beyond pure dockside comfort into the range-and-efficiency conversation now shaping the power-cat sector. YachtBuyer lists the LOA at 14.36 meters and top speed at 20 knots, while Aquila says fuel capacity can reach 687 gallons, figures that reinforce the model’s crossover appeal for coastal cruising and more ambitious passages.

The Yacht Style Awards win also placed the boat in a wider Aquila push. Four models were nominated, including the 36 Molokai, 45 Sport, 46 Yacht and 50 Sail, and the awards were held April 22 at ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove ahead of the Singapore Yachting Festival. That broader lineup shows Aquila is building a family of boats around the same practical idea, but the 46 Yacht is the one that currently looks best positioned for owners who want real offshore credibility, a refined owner’s cabin and the kind of usable volume that keeps a midsize power cat from feeling midsize at all.
