Excess Asia Pacific Teases Atlantic Crossing Documentary, Factory Tour Highlights
An Excess 14 named Free Will walked away from the Poiré-sur-Vie factory tour with a door prize and an ARC itinerary; the brand's "3000 MILES" documentary follows the same route.

The owner of an Excess 14 named Free Will left the brand's factory at Poiré-sur-Vie in better shape than most: a door-prize winner from the March 21 tour with a year-long itinerary already mapped through the Mediterranean, the ARC transatlantic rally, and into the Pacific. That trajectory lands almost exactly where Excess is pointing its cameras. "3000 MILES," the brand's new documentary, follows two families deep in ARC preparation, and its teaser has been screening across 50 French cinemas as part of the Sailorz Film Festival since February.
The full film releases in April 2026 on all Excess platforms. Where the teaser sits with the weight of pre-departure life, managing supplies, technical challenges, fears and the slow accumulation of readiness, the complete documentary tracks those two families through the process that every Excess buyer eventually imagines for themselves: provisioning decisions, crew fatigue over open water, and what the boat actually asks of the people living aboard it across 3,000 miles of Atlantic.
The March 21 factory tour at Poiré-sur-Vie ran the Excess 11, 13 and 14 production sequence start to finish: hull moulding, module construction and final assembly, with attendees getting direct floor access to manufacturing teams and quality-control checkpoints. Guests were able to "witness how their current or future catamarans are built" and "gain a deeper understanding of the brand's philosophy and onboard innovations." Seeing laminate thickness and module bonding in person answers structural questions that no configurator page can.

The spring show calendar carries the full lineup forward. All three models will be on the water at the International Multihull Show in La Grande Motte from April 22 to 26. The Excess 11 appears slightly earlier at the Newport Beach International Boat Show, April 16 to 19, with dealer Sail Pacific handling the dock. In the Asia Pacific region, Primus Marine Yachts holds the Singapore and Phuket franchise, and AquaHub recently came on as Excess's exclusive Hong Kong dealer. Neither has announced a dedicated regional demo slot for Q2 2026, and Excess Asia Pacific has not disclosed current build lead times or whether any specification changes are planned for the model year.
Free Will's story and the "3000 MILES" project are doing the same work from different angles. One is a real owner leaving a factory tour and committing to one of the most demanding blue-water routes available; the other is a filmed account of exactly that preparation, circulating in 50 cinemas before the brand pushes it out across its own channels. When the full documentary lands next month, the Poiré-sur-Vie production floor and the mid-Atlantic will finally share the same frame.
