Fountaine Pajot reveals first images of new FP48 sailing catamaran

Fountaine Pajot has published the first official images of its new FP48 sailing catamaran, giving buyers the clearest early look yet at a model dated 16 Jul 2026 on the builder’s sailing blog index. The FP48 now sits on Fountaine Pajot’s sailing catamarans page alongside the FP41, FP44, FP51 and FP55, which places it squarely in the brand’s core cruising range.

That positioning matters because the FP48 is being pushed as a bridge boat, one that can speak to owners moving up from compact family cruising without jumping straight into the size and complexity of a much larger liveaboard or charter cat. Fountaine Pajot has also built an exclusive-reveal page around five new models, the FP41, FP44, FP48, FP51 and FP55, so the 48 is clearly part of a wider refresh rather than a standalone launch.

The company describes the FP48 as a versatile catamaran focused on comfort, innovation and maneuverability, and says it is the successor to the Elba 45 and Tanna 47. That gives prospective buyers a useful comparison point. The new boat is not presented as a clean-sheet departure from Fountaine Pajot’s cruising formula, but as the next step in a line that has already defined the builder’s owner-cruiser market.

Fountaine Pajot’s social post says the FP48 can offer up to five cabins depending on layout, a strong signal that the boat is being aimed at mixed-use ownership, from private family cruising to charter-ready configurations. Dealer material tied to the launch also lists twin 45 hp engines as standard propulsion, while another source points to 2,300W of solar panels integrated into the roof.

The first images matter because they move the FP48 from teaser territory into a real sales conversation. Buyers can now start reading the boat’s styling direction and how it fits visually between the FP44 and FP51, while still waiting on the details that will decide shortlist status: the final helm arrangement, cockpit-to-saloon flow and how much indoor-outdoor living the production boat really delivers.

That timing fits Fountaine Pajot’s broader push. The yard used Cannes Yachting Festival 2025 to announce an unprecedented line-up of four new sailing catamaran models, and later messaging linked the FP48 with the FP55 as part of a push for innovative, sustainable cats designed to meet owner expectations. The first images now give the FP48 its first real place in that lineup, and the market will be watching for the full spec release to see how far the new 48 pushes beyond the Elba 45 and Tanna 47.
