Fountaine Pajot Unveils Power 80, Its New 24-Metre Flagship Catamaran
Fountaine Pajot's Power 80 spans 23.99 metres with 400 m² of space and options for 900 hp engines, marking the French builder's entry into superyacht territory.

Fountaine Pajot Motor Yachts has introduced the Power 80, a 23.99-metre power catamaran the La Rochelle builder calls the flagship of its entire motor yacht fleet, with standard twin 480 hp engines and an optional upgrade to twin 900 hp units capable of supporting transatlantic passages.
The Power 80's origins trace back to September 2022, when Fountaine Pajot announced construction of what it described as the largest cruising catamaran ever built by the yard, measuring 80 feet in length and just over 11 metres in beam. That hull became the Thíra 80, unveiled afloat on 12 September 2023 at the Cannes Yachting Festival, where it attracted immediate buyer interest. At a press conference during that same festival, Fountaine Pajot announced it would develop a motor yacht version in response to the sailing cat's popularity. The Power 80 followed as a 2025 world premiere, debuting at the 2025 Cannes Yachting Festival before receiving broader industry attention in early 2026.
Berret-Racoupeau Yacht Design is credited with the exterior design and naval architecture of both the Thíra 80 and the Power 80, lending the motor yacht what one description called an "airy and open, yet reassuringly robust" character through expansive glass surfaces and retractable wings.
The numbers behind the Power 80 are striking for a production catamaran. More than 400 m² of combined interior and exterior space accommodates up to twelve guests, or six in what the company terms "ultra-exclusive comfort," across three to six ensuite cabins depending on configuration. The owner's suite includes a whirlpool bath. Crew quarters accommodate five professionals, while layout options extend to lounge and dining or galley kitchen arrangements. The aft deck is designed to function as a beach club, providing sea access for swimming and water toys. Deck space alone accounts for 250 m².

The Power 80 sits at the top of a motor yacht lineup that also includes the FPY70 and the MY.6, with Fountaine Pajot signalling further ambitions through planned sail and power versions of both the FPY70 and a future FPY110. The Thíra 80 and Power 80 have together sold close to 20 units, according to one industry assessment, underlining demand at the larger end of the catamaran market.
For a builder that launched its Aura 51 Smart Electric in 2022 and unveiled what it described as the world's first hydrogen-powered catamaran in 2023, the Power 80 represents a different kind of statement: proof that Fountaine Pajot's more than 40 years of catamaran design experience can now compete in superyacht territory on sheer scale and specification, not just technology.
