Leopard Catamarans Debuts Refined 53 Powercat at Miami Boat Show
Leopard Catamarans unveiled a reworked Leopard 53 Powercat at the Miami Boat Show, adding a sealed engine room for quieter cruising and retaining twin Yanmar 370HP engines with reported top speeds up to 24 knots.

Leopard Catamarans formally introduced the refined Leopard 53 Powercat at the Miami International Boat Show in February 2026, presenting an evolutionary update that emphasizes expanded social spaces, ergonomic refinements and a major engineering change to cut noise and vibration. The 53PC was shown as a next-generation successor to the Leopard 51 Powercat and the prior Leopard 53, and Leopard noted multiple production deliveries while the company and press outlets offered slightly different totals.
Franck Bauguil, Senior Vice President of Yacht Ownership & Product Development for Leopard Catamarans and The Moorings, framed the rollout: “The refined Leopard 53 Powercat is a testament to our commitment to continuous innovation and listening to the needs of our global owners. We haven’t just refreshed the finishes; we’ve optimised the experience at the same price point. The combination of its exceptional new living spaces, smart ergonomic design, and enhanced level of comfort truly sets a new standard for luxury power catamaran cruising. It remains the ideal platform for both extended private voyages and successful charter ownership through The Moorings.”
On deck layout and fit-out, Leopard showed an expansive saloon flowing directly to an aft deck and redesigned galley fitted with Lewmar glass stackable doors to support seamless indoor-outdoor entertaining. The flybridge was promoted as “the heart of the boat,” now featuring a more spacious seating layout with modular back cushions and new fabric, an upgraded helm with improved visibility and ergonomics, and a wet bar/galley module with integrated sink, grill and refrigeration. Ambient and task lighting is built into flybridge seating and structure while cockpit lighting has been modernised for both ambiance and functionality.
Hull and access changes include easier walk-through transom and platform access plus an optional electric lifting platform that can act as a tender station when raised and serve as a large swim or beach platform when lowered. Interior accommodation retains three- or four-cabin ensuite layouts, with the owner’s version offering a full private suite centered on a large island bed and a spacious walk-in closet.

Under the deck, Leopard retains the efficient twin-hull concept and the trusted twin Yanmar 370HP propulsion package, with published performance claims of up to 24 knots and an “impressive long-range capability.” The builder also highlighted a critical engineering update: all major systems are housed in a separate, sealed engine room to substantially reduce engine noise and vibration transmitted into living spaces, improving long-distance comfort.
Production messaging varies by outlet: Leopard materials and several reports list 141 units delivered to date, while at least one report describes “over 142 delivered worldwide.” Leopard and The Moorings share corporate ownership, and company materials position the 53PC for both private extended voyages and Moorings charter operations. Official photos and gallery images of the Leopard 53 PC are available through Leopard Catamarans’ public gallery and third-party photo posts labeled with filenames such as “Leopard 53 PC - salon.jpg” and “Leopard 53 PC - flybridge.jpg.” For final specifications, delivery counts and option details such as the electric lifting platform and engine package, contact Leopard Catamarans or Robertson & Caine for the latest production and technical sheets.
