Sunreef Expands UAE Shipyard to Build ULTIMA Range and Superyachts
Sunreef Yachts expanded its shipbuilding operations in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, establishing a roughly 65,000 square meter facility dedicated to the ULTIMA catamaran line and larger luxury builds. The move, supported by high-tech robotics and additional production plots, accelerates output across models from the 44 ULTIMA to the 111 superyacht and broadens capacity for 60-foot NEXT series models.

Sunreef Yachts has moved a significant portion of production to a new Ras Al Khaimah facility in the United Arab Emirates, positioning the RAK shipyard as a central hub for its ULTIMA range and larger bespoke catamarans. The yard covers roughly 65,000 square meters and was outfitted with robotic technology designed to streamline construction while retaining the brand’s emphasis on bespoke finishes.
The first UAE-built yacht, an Ultima 55, was launched at DIBS 2025, and additional ULTIMA models are now in production at the RAK site. Sunreef has scaled the yard’s capacity to run a spectrum of models from the 44 ULTIMA through to the 88 ULTIMA, and confirmed the facility can also produce the Sunreef 60 Sailing NEXT and the 60 Sunreef Power NEXT models. The company has further committed the site to large-scale projects, with the Ultima 111 superyacht already under construction at RAK.
Initial plans focused on the ULTIMA lineup, but rising demand prompted Sunreef to acquire two additional plots adjacent to the existing yard. Those parcels will expand production halls, outfitting zones, and specialist facilities, enabling more complex outfitting work and simultaneous builds. The integration of robotics aims to increase efficiency across laminated hull and structural assembly stages while preserving customization and high-end interior outfitting done by skilled craftsmen.

For buyers and brokers the expansion signals growing availability and the potential for more predictable delivery windows as production capacity rises. Owners seeking highly customized ULTIMA models or larger superyacht-class catamarans now have a broader production base that blends automated efficiency with bespoke finishing options. For the regional maritime community, the RAK yard reinforces the UAE’s role as a manufacturing location for luxury composite yachts and creates a local centre for specialist suppliers and skilled trades.
Verify current delivery timelines and specification options with Sunreef sales or your broker, as capacity and model availability will evolve while the RAK site completes its expansion. The Ras Al Khaimah facility now stands as a strategic pillar in Sunreef’s long-term production plan for luxury catamarans.
