Sunreef’s first interior images of Wasabi do more than show off decor. They make the company’s Ultima 88 pitch look far more believable, because the 26.8-metre power catamaran now reads as a genuine blend of speedboat intent and livable yacht space rather than a concept built for a brochure.

The first Ultima 88 was sold to Tim Ciasulli, whom Sunreef describes as a former USA National and World Offshore Powerboat Champion, a four-time world speed record holder and a racer with more than 300 starts and more than 100 victories. Construction began in December 2023 at Sunreef’s Ras Al Khaimah facilities after the sale was announced at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in October 2023, putting the boat at the center of the model’s early rollout.

Inside Wasabi, the strongest impression is restraint. Light woods, marble, black metal accents and tan leather shape the saloon and dining areas into something contemporary and calm, not overworked or flashy. That matters on a boat with performance branding, because the interior does not fight the hull form. Instead, it supports the idea of a fast multihull that still wants to live like a proper yacht, with clear sightlines and a neutral palette that should keep the spaces from feeling busy underway or at anchor.

The layout details are where Sunreef’s argument gets stronger. The Ultima 88 carries a 9.3-metre beam and 387 square metres of living space, along with opening bulwarks, a large aft garage and the Ocean Lounge arrangement that turns the stern into a waterfront terrace. Sunreef says the yacht can be configured with either high-performance power propulsion or an advanced hybrid setup for quiet electric cruising, and the interiors are built with sustainable woods, recycled plastics and reclaimed fabrics. The company has also said the living and lounging zones are designed to reduce dependence on artificial lighting and air conditioning.

The package is ambitious enough to support the model’s larger claims. Sunreef has described the Ultima range as a line of fully customizable hi-tech hybrid power catamarans that blends monohull agility with multihull stability, generous living space and shallow draft. The 88 sits as the second-largest model in the six-boat lineup, and the option list goes as far as a full-beam master suite with a private sauna and guest accommodation for up to 10. With Carlos Alcaraz now linked to a custom Ultima 88 as well, Wasabi’s finished interior gives the series its clearest proof yet that Sunreef is building more than a fast-looking catamaran. It is building a luxury platform that finally looks ready to deliver on both speed and comfort.
