Rocket Espresso Launches Gravo, Its First Home Grinder With Built-In Weight Technology
Rocket Espresso's Gravo is the brand's first home grinder with built-in grind-by-weight technology, featuring blind 63mm flat burrs and a 2.5" touchscreen in a chassis designed by Valerio Cometti + V12 Design.

Rocket Espresso formally announced the Gravo on March 19, 2026, marking the Italian manufacturer's first venture into premium home grinding with built-in grind-by-weight technology. Rocket Espresso introduces Gravo as its first premium home coffee grinder, designed to deliver professional grinding performance with integrated grind-by-weight technology. The machine was first shown publicly at HostMilano in Italy, where Rocket revealed the Gravo grind-by-weight grinder, with blind 63-millimeter flat burrs targeting high-end home users but capable of light-commercial duty, according to the company.
Through its intuitive interface, you can save up to three recipes per mode, allowing you to instantly recall your preferred settings and ensure consistent results, cup after cup. The Gravo operates in three modes: grind-by-weight, on-demand time dosing, and single-shot. It guarantees precise brew ratios and outstanding repeatability, removing the need for manual grind timing or separate dose measurement. The time dosing mode keeps a running second-count on the display while you pull a dose, and single-shot mode relies on a dedicated tool for grinding the final portion of your chosen beans. With Gravo, you can set your grind size with complete confidence, thanks to advanced digital control and dose precision.
On the hardware side, the spec sheet is tight and specific: 63mm burrs driven by a brushless motor at up to 2.5 g/s at 1,500 RPM, a 300g hopper, a 2.5-inch touchscreen, and a footprint of 140 x 260 x 410mm. The screwless burr design ensures uniform contact between beans and burrs, and by eliminating recessed screws, every grind stays fresh, preserving maximum flavor. There's also an adjustable spout angle for dialing in portafilter alignment, which matters more than most people expect when you're chasing consistent distribution shot after shot.
Design credit goes to Valerio Cometti + V12 Design, and the aesthetic choices here are deliberate. A knurled metal band and a hopper inspired by fine jewellery and high-end automotive detailing give the grinder a distinctive visual identity while maintaining functional clarity. The Gravo stands out for its textured collar at the hopper base, inlaid side panel details, and open exit chute, among other stylistic elements. The Rocket Espresso brand identity is integrated directly into the product architecture; following the logo redesign introduced with the Appartamento TCA, the emblem becomes a structural design element rather than a purely graphic feature.
The Gravo arrives as part of an aggressive product push for Rocket. Both new models arrive one year after Rocket launched the Spluga professional grinder at the 2024 World of Coffee event in Copenhagen; the Spluga and Rocket Bicocca espresso machine were the official machines at the World Coffee in Good Spirits Championship in 2024 and 2025. Marketing Specialist Francesca Troccoli framed the Gravo as part of a broader consolidation strategy: "We're focusing on the successful launch and consolidation of our latest products, including the new Stelvio, Spluga and Gravo grinders. At the same time, Rocket continues to explore and develop new technologies aimed at enhancing performance, user experience, and design innovation across our range. Our commitment remains to refine, evolve, and push the boundaries of what's possible in espresso craftsmanship."
Gravo will be available through Rocket Espresso's global network of distributors and authorized retailers. In the UK, the Rocket Gravo Grinder in Chrome is listed at £1,190 through the official UK distributor. Pricing for other markets has not been confirmed. For anyone running a Rocket machine at home and tired of the separate scale-and-timer routine, this is the grinder Rocket has been conspicuously missing from its lineup.
