American Crochet launches Stitch the Season spring crochet-along with weekly patterns
American Crochet’s first Stitch the Season CAL pairs a wrap, mini bag, egg set and coasters in a free four-week spring format.

American Crochet has kicked off Stitch the Season: Spring Awakening, a free crochet-along that turns spring into a four-pattern release cycle instead of a single drop. Launched on April 19, 2026, the event is the designer’s first Stitch the Season collection and the start of a recurring seasonal format that American Crochet says will return every season with a new coordinating set.
The rollout is built for steady making. The collection runs as a four-week stitch-along with one new pattern released each week, though the site presents the schedule two ways, describing weekly drops as both Saturdays and Sundays from April 19 through May 10. Makers can follow along at no cost, buy the patterns one at a time as paid PDFs, or pick up the full bundle for $22. That bundle is listed against a $27 individual total, giving buyers a $5 savings and a way to work ahead.

The opening pattern, Amber Rose Wrap, sets the tone with a drapey spring shawl worked in fingering or DK weight yarn. It also carries a longer history than the CAL itself: American Crochet says it was originally designed for Blue Mule Fiber’s booth at Vogue Knitting Live! in 2018. Week 2 shifts to the Spring Morning Mini Bag, a small accessory that the pattern post frames for spring, Easter and weddings, and that can be dressed up with pearls and ruffles or kept simple. The recommended materials are practical and accessible, about 100 yards of worsted-weight cotton with an F/9, 3.75mm hook.
Week 3 leans into fast, giftable stitching with the Speckled Nest Eggs Set, a beginner-friendly amigurumi project that includes a plain egg, a speckled embroidered version and a striped seed-stitch version. The final release, the Spring Coaster Set, is pitched as a Mother’s Day project in cotton for a functional, washable finish. Taken together, the four patterns form a small seasonal capsule rather than a random assortment, which is the point of the format.

Mistie Bush is presenting Stitch the Season as more than a one-off spring CAL. American Crochet’s broader crochet-along pages say these events are free, often include step-by-step guidance and sometimes video support, and are designed so makers can work at their own pace without falling behind. Participants can share progress on Instagram with #StitchTheSeason and tag @americancrochet, with weekly favorites reshared, or join the American Crochet Facebook Group for questions and support. For crocheters who like a clear release schedule, a defined finish line and the option to buy into the whole set, Spring Awakening reads like a test case for a more structured seasonal rhythm in crochet.
