Bonita Patterns debuts Crocodile Stitch Lacy Fingerless Gloves pattern in March 2026
Bonita Patterns published a Crocodile Stitch Lacy Fingerless Gloves pattern on March 1, 2026, showing samples in Bonita Yarns Kaleidoscopic fingering-weight wool, Rain of Gold Shades.

Bonita Patterns published a new pattern titled Crocodile Stitch Lacy Fingerless Gloves on March 1, 2026, pairing sculptural crocodile stitch with a lacy construction designed for fingering-weight yarns. On its product page Bonita described the design this way: "These beautifully textured fingerless gloves combine rich stitch detail with vibrant colourwork, making them both functional and eye-catching."
The Bonita listing shows materials used in the pattern photos as "2 skeins of Bonita Yarns Kaleidoscopic," labeled Fingering Weight, 100% Wool, Colourway: Rain of Gold Shades, 195 yards / 178 meters per skein, with a parenthetical note that this "(Allows for colour matching, if desired)." The page also states, "The gloves featured in the pattern photos are created using a thoughtful blend of yarn weights and fibers to achieve a balanced structure, softness, and visual depth." The Bonita product UI in the excerpt includes kit references such as "LILAC / ALPINE ASTER SHADOWS Crocodile Stitch Lacy Fingerless Gloves Kits - Bonita Patterns" and an availability message reading "Couldn't load pickup availability."
Bonita promoted the release on Instagram with the caption "Delicate, elegant, and beautifully textured — the Crocodile Stitch Lacy Fingerless Gloves are here!" The Instagram copy appears alongside the product listing language and the materials shown in the pattern photos.
The March 2026 release joins a lineage of crocodile-stitch fingerless-glove patterns documented across the community. Furls Crochet previously ran a crocodile-stitch fingerless-gloves pattern as its CAL for November 2016, with Ravelry listings in the excerpt showing community engagement metrics including "133 projects" and "stashed 54 times," as well as another block listing "100 projects" and "stashed 38 times." Those Ravelry excerpts name related designs such as "Embossed Boho Vest pattern," "Crocodile Stitch Fingerless Gloves Khaleesi CAL pattern," and "Crocodile Stitch Capelet pattern."

Separate free tutorials remain available from other designers. Lianka Azulay posted "Free Crochet Pattern - Crocodile Stitch Fingerless Gloves" on September 23, 2025, and described them as "These whimsical gloves feature the unique Crocodile Stitch and a knit-look crocheted ribbed pattern. This is a quick project, ideal for a last-minute gift, and they are also popular among those who sell finished crochet items." Lianka’s excerpt includes stitch definitions and round-by-round instructions, for example "V-Stitch (V-st) – Work (dc 1, ch 1, dc 1) in stitch indicated," a starting chain "Ch 36 (42), being careful not to twist chain, join with sl st in first ch to form a ring," and technical rounds such as "Rnd 20: Ch 1 (doesn’t count as st), FPdc in each st around, do not join. Rnd 20 through 37 are worked in a spiral. Use a stitch marker to mark the first st of each round. – [24 (28) FPdc]" plus Lianka’s hand sizing table listing Small/Medium: 6.5 in to 7.5 in and Large/Extra Large: 7.5 in to 8.5 in.
Meladora's Creations offers a separate free pattern and video tutorials with both right-handed and left-handed versions, providing a downloadable "PDF Pattern with Pictures" on Ravelry or Etsy. Her instructional excerpt states "The multiples of this stitch is 4" and begins, "To Start ch 24 and sl st into beginning ch to form a ring." Meladora also warns, "TIP: The Crocodile Stitch makes the gloves much bigger on the hand and feels loose, so if you can get your hand through a chain of 20 it’s much better," and includes detailed rounds such as "Round 4 ch 1 and DC 5 down the post..." and "Round 5 – Prep Row – 1st row of repeat ch 3, DC into the same beginning stitch, ch 1..."
The Bonita release adds a fingering-weight, colourwork-focused option to an already well-documented set of crocodile-stitch glove approaches. Bonita’s March 1, 2026 pattern listing emphasizes the photographed yarn details and kit labels while Lianka Azulay’s September 23, 2025 free pattern and Meladora’s tutorial offer alternate constructions and fit notes for makers comparing techniques and sizing.
