Free Lilienne Poncho Pattern Offers a Lightweight Crochet Option for Spring
Jera's free Lilienne Poncho works up in 1,205 yards of cotton DK on a 4mm hook, with 2,544 Ravelry projects already logged.

The Lilienne Poncho from Jera's Jamboree delivers what spring layering actually calls for: an airy mesh yoke that transitions into a crossed-stitch body, all worked in one piece on a 4mm hook. "My Lilienne Poncho is designed to feel light, elegant, and beautifully wearable," Jera writes in the pattern notes, and the construction reflects that intent at every row.
The poncho is a rectangle worked flat, beginning with a chain of 154 and building out to 152 double crochets across the first row. From there, the design alternates double crochet rows with rows of Crossed Double Crochet (Xdc) to create the textured body beneath the mesh yoke. "An airy mesh yoke flows into a denser, textured body, creating balance between openness and drape," according to the pattern description. Each finished panel measures approximately 38 inches wide by 20 inches long, with front and back panels totaling 76 inches in circumference. The design can also be flipped to offer a second neckline option, giving one piece two distinct looks.
Materials are deliberately minimal: Cotton DK (#3 weight) yarn at 1,205 yards, a G-6 or 4mm hook, stitch markers, a tape measure, scissors, and a needle. Gauge runs 14 stitches and 10 rows to a 4-inch square, swatched by alternating one row of double crochet with one row of Xdc five times. The pattern is written in US terms and rated beginner-friendly, which aligns with its straightforward row construction and limited stitch vocabulary.
The pattern was released as part of the International Crochet Month Blog Hop, which ran a new permanently free pattern every day throughout March 2026. The Lilienne Poncho is free to view on the Jera's Jamboree blog (ad-supported), and a PDF version was available for free download through 10am Eastern/3pm GMT on the day after it was featured. Jera's Jamboree has already logged 2,544 projects and 1,608 stashes on Ravelry, numbers that signal how quickly this one moved through the community.

The blog hop is organized in partnership with Underground Crafter, which is coordinating a giveaway backed by sponsors including Denise, Forbidden Fiber Co., Fox Chapel Publishing, Furls, GlassEyesOnline, Guild of Master Craftsman Publications, KnitPal, Knitter's Relief Balm, LennyMudPottery, MBT Creates, Unicorn, and WalnutFarmDesigns. The giveaway entry deadline is April 5, 2026 at 11:59pm Eastern/4.59 GMT, with links to all hop patterns available through Underground Crafter.
