Bored Cuban celebrated the official opening of its third Miami location at 5812 Sunset Drive, South Miami 33143, with a ribbon-cutting and cafecito toast on March 5, 2026 at 3:05 p.m., alongside South Miami leaders for 305 Day. The event formalized a move that founder Eric Castellanos has framed as bringing the Miami-rooted brand into his own neighborhood.

The NFT-inspired Cuban fast-casual concept opened the South Miami spot after construction had started earlier this year, following its original outpost on LeJune Road near Miami International Airport and a second location at Brickell’s Latin Cafe. Castellanos called the opening a "full-circle moment, bringing the Miami-rooted brand into his own neighborhood near his alma mater," and described South Miami as "a long term play."

Menu offerings at the new location extend Bored Cuban’s signature mashup of playful and traditional items. The South Miami spot will serve Cuban pop tarts, empanadas, Cuban sandwiches, acai bowls, bowls, flatbreads, and sandwiches, and will add traditional Cuban platters such as lechon in addition to the brand’s popular bowls and flatbreads. On customer choice Castellanos said, "You have your choice, depending on what your mood is."

The South Miami lease is a site takeover of the former Sushi Maki space after owner Abe Ng decided he had two locations too close together. WhatNow reported the change of hands and noted construction was underway ahead of the March opening; the new Bored Cuban team confirmed the address and public contact as 5812 Sunset Dr. and phone number 786-633-6309.

Miami New Times included Bored Cuban on its "Most Anticipated Miami Restaurants Opening March 2026" list, alongside Fuku, Geia, Buccan Coral Gables, Seia, and Canta Corazón, and ran photo assets for the opening. The inclusion placed Bored Cuban among a wave of March debuts that New Times described as ranging from viral fried chicken to rooftop and Italian concepts arriving across the city.

With three Miami locations now operating and the South Miami grand opening complete, Castellanos and his team have positioned Bored Cuban to serve both the quick-lunch crowd and diners seeking traditional Cuban platters in a colorful, NFT-inspired setting. The March 5 ceremony closed a loop for the founder and set the brand to expand its local footprint from LeJune Road and Brickell into his own neighborhood.
